Read moreOne of the beautiful places to see in Longmont. The lake was so stunning with the majestic peaks behind. The reflection of the mountain was very clear due to the pristine water. The place was very very clean. Nature/fitness enthusiasts would really love this place. One can sit and enjoy the stillness of the lake, go for walk/jog in the trail, play with the kids or lay down in the grass beds for getting a quick dose of vitamin D. It was like a mini natural geographic documentary movie. I was able to spot the majestic Bald Eagle, highland cows, prairie dogs and some coots playing in the lake. This park has a lengthy loop trail of 3.5 miles making it a great place for people to jog/cycle/walk. Parking was at a close proximity to the lake and it's super easy to get back to the cars. Dining place was also present to take quick bites with the family. Kids would love this place for the cute playing park it has with swings and...

Not even a porta potty so if you are there for a long time you have to leave or go in the lake I guess 2) The worst issues was the amount of feces (and not just fowl) on the grass areas surrounding the lake. I'm not exaggerating when I say you could not find 6 inches of clean ground between poop. Which means if you are laying out a blanket, tarp, paddleboard, etc it gets covered. My shoes were caked with it. The lake water itself was very murky and yellowish. It takes a lot to gross me out but...
