Wait time was reasonable even with a few other tables large tables ahead of us. I went on Labor Day. Unlike many other places, drinks were only being served in disposable containers, including water. Other establishments are taking the time to sanitize their glasses, but not here. So each drink is individually charged. We ordered some seaweed salad as an appetizer. It was about half a cup of salad for 6 dollars. The Thai tea tasted off somehow. It was thick, viscous and too sweet, like it was mixed with a lot of caramel syrup. We ordered a few rolls that were quite tasty and looked nice, but the only aids to presentation on the plate were plastic grass, like when you pick up sushi at the grocery store. The wasabi is just the normal paste served everywhere, and Kikkoman soy sauce. I ordered twenty pieces of sashimi and sushi rice on the side. The rice had too little rice vinegar and sugar as seasoning and they added furikake on top. This meant the rice didn't go well with the fish anymore. However, it was the right consistency and stickiness and none of the rice fell apart on our other orders. It was properly pressed and shaped. The sashimi was all frozen. I wish I was exaggerating, but I was eating ice crystals. For the most part they were good cuts, but the whitefish was paper thin, and still frozen. The yellowtail also had a bit of a stronger taste than is normal. I didn't even think about returning the food because I was so hungry. I should have. After our first course, we ordered six pieces of nigiri. None of that was frozen, thankfully. Overall, I would say this place is worth visiting if you only order rolls. The quality of the fish is not high enough to really enjoy an experience here if you normally order nigiri. Avoid the sashimi unless you want to take your chances with frozen fish. I would rate this at 2.5 stars if I could, but I...
Read moreThis sushi place has a great ambiance and vibe to it. When I read previous reviews after Jason and Tu took over I had to go! I've lived in Longmont over 20 years! This truly is the best sushi place to eat. We felt very welcomed, like we were in their personal home. We had the combo platter. Every piece of fish was the freshest I've ever tasted! They literally melted in my mouth. The cuts were larger than anywhere which really enhanced the flavor. Even their ginger was succulent. What can I say? The better than I've ever tasted egg drop soup was freshly made and had just the right amount of salt and broth consistency. The honey Ginger Tea was spot on. And the suggested cold Saki, served in clear Saki glasses, was perfect with our dinner. Jason is a connoisseur at that! I did forget my sweet little Saki jar though that Jason suggested I bring home. We went in there not really knowing what we wanted. Jason was very kind to relay our taste bud's desires to his wife, the sushi chef. So we ended up adding to our combo platter the Super Spiderman that was very large, super tasty, and presented well. We brought some of that home. Everything was perfect! I'll be back...
Read moreMy son, his girlfriend, my wife and I all went out for dinner tonight. This was my wife's first time eating sushi 🍣 and she loved it. It was my first time here because my son recommended it. It was absolutely delicious and the "Heart Attack" appetizer dish was the most amazing surprise of the evening, you must try it. All of our sushi dishes (7) different ones in total were delicious, great size, packed full of flavor and fresh, fresh, fresh. We really liked the presentation, taste, variety and service. I would recommend this restaurant over & over again, you can't go wrong! I will definitely eat here again and the "Heart Attack" will always be the first thing we order. This is better than big city sushi bars and absolutely the best sushi in Longmont and surrounding area.
Great job Sushi 🍣 Box, you really got it right! I hope nothing but the best for you and your...
