I've attended since 2008. I fell away for a while and found Angelus Temple and got back on my feet so to speak. I stopped attending in 2017. The sermons were enough to get me in the right direction but after a while I felt like I was spiritually starving. Most sermons are humanistic self help messages with paraphrased scripture. Very non offensive 'be all you can be' stuff. Very appealing if that's what you want but I strongly believe it's not what you need. There are many sermons on persistence and finishing the race. This puts the emphasis on our own will and strength instead of the biblical surrendering to God to change us. We are not active participants in God's grace or transformation. Our will, strength and persistence are nothing with our evil human nature. Also God's purpose for our lives is plainly stated in the bible and finding our purpose is a recurring theme in the sermons. A bit misleading in my opinion. But don't take my word for it just do a little scripture searching. I do believe that their outreach programs are absolutely the best, period. No disputing that. I just felt compelled to share my opinion based on my experiences. P.S. then there was that one time at Halloween when a stagehand came out to retrieve a mic dressed as a Zombie and nobody was offended. It was the last thing I witnessed to reaffirm I was making the right...
Read moreWas an amazing message this morning. I so love the DNA of the mission of this church for their particular, calling to love and serve and give hope to the hurting and broken and lost to see lives restored. The services they provide without charge to rescue victims of all kinds of dysfunction. I am thankful for the faifulness and character God has shown into Pastor Matthew and his family's heritage. This is one of many places I attend as the Lord leads but I am really thankful to God for it. They have down so much for the community as well. Really impacting lives. I prayed the Holy Spirit continue to form Christ in them and their character and that of their He has called to leadership and influence there. More of HIM less of fallen nature. God bless I would recommend it to anyone. It may not be everyone's cup of tea but they have God's favour on them and I am grateful as a Maggie witness to so any lives touched and changed by LOVE. God is for the underdog as well as the top dogs. Please feel free to check out is you are in need of love encouragment and truth. One of the wells I am thankful to be able to drink from...
Read moreI love The Dream Center and Angelous Temple. I love what Jesus is doing in the life of many that are lost without him. This is a great place to congregate and fellowship together as the body of Christ. Overall I love this place as person that has struggled with life issues, drug abuse and alcholism. The Dream Center took me in and gave the opportunity to take sometime off and focus on having a relationship with God while allowing Him to restore my life and bounce back in life. I didn't finish the program but the 4 months God granted me to be here was life changing. I wonder sometimes how my life would be if I would have stay there the whole year and graduated. It's been a long and tough road for me and I just want everyone to know that if you are thinking of going to Discipleship program is THE BEST DECISIONS YOU CAN MAKE IN YOUR LIFE. I KNOW UNDERSTAND WHAT THE DREAM CENTER WAS TRYING TO TEACH ME. ITS NOT EASY BUT IF YOU SURRENDER YOUR LIFE COMPLETELY TO THE LORD YOU WILL FIND PEACE AND JOY. AND YOULL...
