Idk I used to be about this place because it's the closest dispensary to my apartment but when my ID expired it was as if no one knew the correct protocol to proceed with but they all had a general sense of what to say, but no one was on the same page about it.
One guy told me they just need the receipt that says I paid to renew it, I go online and renew and print out the receipt. The next day I bring that and I meet someone else who tells me they can't accept the paper. They said It needs to be a printout receipt FROM the DMV. A budtender with blue eyes and a security guard were the ones that told me this. They were nice. So I said "cool I'm going to the dmv tomorrow and get it I'll see you guys tomorrow". I knew the exact paper they were talking about.
I go to the DMV, which I had to do anyway and take care of it, get the paperwork they asked for and go straight back to Catalyst to get me some weed I've been trying to get all week lol when I come back I ask for the budtender with blue eyes and a new employee I've never seen before tells me they just left. So I tell this person my story and what the previous employee told me and she says she can't accept the receipt from the DMV.
Verbiage is very important when it comes to documents and it was like everyone had a general idea of what to say but no one knew how to respond when the documents were presented. I don't understand how they can ask for me to present a "receipt" and then not to accept the receipt.
The girl told me I needed to bring a paper that showed an expiration date... idk how that was possible because my ID was expired already which is why the initial instructions they gave me was to just bring a "receipt" that showed a new unexpired ID was on the way but when I met someone new that didn't know I had been there days before, the expectation that was set was suddenly thrown at the window.
Verbiage when setting expectations to a customer is important and it seemed like people knew general policies but were quick to say no when they were unsure rather than trying to figure out details.
I honestly don't know if I want to return once my ID comes in the mail this week lol , everyone seemed to know what to say but no one seemed to know what to look for or do and I'm just disappointed. What a let down lol
Aside from that, the prices are good and the location is nice but the team should really communicate better with one another as well as probably come up with a guidebook on how to properly set expectations so everyone is on the same page and I’m not coming back just to hear I have to go on a new side quest just to...
Read moreThis was my first visit to a Catalyst Cannabis location, and it was easy to see why the most experienced cannabis connoisseurs all place Catalyst at the top rank of California dispensaries
A very welcome emphasis on compassionate care animates Catalyst. Warm and friendly staff, great selection of quality brands at sensible prices, superb budtenders whose expertise is truly priceless, and elegant displays all in a nicely lit and attractive store. Lots of specials, so check the website or phone in advance for details.
This is the most welcoming dispensary I've visited since rediscovering cannabis to treat stress and pancreatitis about a year and a half ago. I'd almost forgotten how easy and enjoyable the dispensary experience can be, but so rarely is. I was smiling when I left the store on both occasions I visited. Can't say that about most dispensaries.
My new favorite dispensary. My thanks again to my new favorite budtenders, Maggie and Amber, and all the staff at Catalyst Mid City.
Catalyst is the future of cannabis. Try it and see for yourself. You will not be disappointed.
Update: Couldn't resist the "Grand Opening" this weekend. Picked up a Coldfire Ozk cartridge with the able assistance and advice of Jennifer. Thanks again, Jen!
Update 8/14/2023
Dropped in to get myself a new Coldfire Mamba Mints from Green Dragon with the able assistance of Amber. Thanks again to Amber and Catalyst....
Read moreI was referred to Catalyst by an employee at another dispensary who was absolutely raving about your establishment. Unfortunately, when we arrived, we discovered that you had just eliminated a long list of discounts, including a first-time patient deal. While I understand the rationale behind cutting unproductive deals like Influencer or Student Discounts, it is incomprehensible and deeply disappointing that you would remove incentives that actually attract serious customers like myself.
I came prepared to spend a significant amount of money, but this was the first dispensary I’ve ever entered and promptly exited after seeing the absurd pricing and lack of worthwhile offers. The signs plastered all over the store, inviting customers to reach out with concerns, suggest that you were aware of the backlash this decision would cause. This indicates a lack of strategic thinking and foresight.
Brand loyalty is crucial, and if you aren’t even incentivizing me to walk in the door for the first time, why would anyone ever return? This clearly shows you don’t care about building a solid customer base.
I’m sure you’ll dismiss this message, thinking it’s just one lost customer today, but we were not the only ones to walk out. You are driving away business with these ill-conceived decisions, and it's baffling to witness such blatant disregard for customer loyalty and...
