Golden State Corals — Attraction in Los Angeles

My daughter gave me a pico sized aquarium for my birthday, as she knew that I had long admired her reef tanks. Yesterday, after completing the cycling the tank, we visited the aquarium store to pick up my tanks’ first residents. We decided to try out California Aquariums, (CA), as they are local to us; this was our first visit. CA is located in what I’d term an industrial park setting, so I didn't really expect much when we drove up. When we entered the store, however, that impression was dispelled. The store is very clean & well-organized. The tanks are well-tended and they have a great variety of corals. (They also have a smallish selection of fish, but corals appear to be the specialty.) We were met at the door by Eleanor, a 2 year old German Shepard, who belongs to one of the store’s two proprietors, Elliot, who helped us. (Being dog fans, this was a plus for us, as Eleanor is quite friendly.) Since this my first reef tank, I had lots of questions. Elliot could not have been more pleasant and patient in answering those questions. California Aquariums is one of the best small Local Fish Store (LFS) in the Los Angeles County. They stock (they call it coral cellar) some of the most amazing and eclectic collection of corals from high end mushrooms, zoanthids, scolymias, fungias, acans up to their tremendous assortment of beautiful acroporas and montiporas and MORE…!!! California Aquarium’s prices are fair and very competitive. Austin and Elliot always provide informative advice and most of all incredible service, and they are very honest. I am a proponent of supporting our local fish stores, and I am grateful to show my heartfelt support for California Aquariums. Please visit their scenic facility in Reseda. It is a very clean facility with tremendous amount of eye candies. What makes me smile from time to time is when their big friendly dog is present and would greet me like an old friend. Highly recommend Golden State Corals!!! Elliot the owner is one the most amazing people to talk to. He’s very professional and always finds way to help his customers. He’s always available and never rejects his customers. He’s a very good reef keeper. His store has one of the most amazing corals in the area. There is no doubt that Golden state has good quality corals. You will always buy a good healthy coral and never feel like you got ripped off. He makes the hobby fun and he has really good prices.
