Shishkin Art Studio — Attraction in Los Angeles

When I came to this studio I was a bit skeptical due to the fact that it wasn’t located within a business location. The place grew on me from the very first day. The drive to the studio is so very pleasant, the location is green and gorgeous and it relaxes me just to get to here. The studio is large and very easily accessible. You don’t feel you’re entering a home, you are entering a very warm and arrlile atmosphere. The teaching begins on the first day. You get to work on this panel with many colors that you can’t really name and with a very limited color palette you learn to reproduce each and every color there. It’s so fun and once you see how well you have matched these colors you already feel differently about yourself. Your first project is a real no nonesense oil painting. Drawing and painting are combined into one single entity which at first I wasn’t comfortable with but now I wouldn’t have it any other way. I’m at my fourth project so far and I’ve been here for a bit more than six months. My work is already at a gallery quality. Shahin is the best art teacher anyone could ask for. I found his studio online in high school and spent a couple years there before I had to leave for college. He makes sure you learn oil painting. He is not only wise, knowledgeable, a great teacher and artist, but also funny and sarcastic which makes a 4 hour session go by super fast. Sticking with this class long term doesn’t only teach you oil painting but also teaches patience and perseverance that will help in other aspects of life. I’ve been taking oil painting classes at Shishkin’s art studio for a few months now, and I can honestly say it’s been an inspiring and transformative experience. Shahin is not only a talented artist but also a patient and encouraging teacher who genuinely cares about each student’s progress.
