I love doing crafts so therefore love hobby lobby but gave it 3 stars for several reasons. You ALWAYS have to wait in line, and sometimes the lines are very long! I'm not sure why this is a problem. I haven't ever taken notice to the time of day in which I've been there that may contribute to several customers, like lunch hour for instance, but it seems to be regularly busy. Also the staff there doesn't seem very friendly. My last visit I purchased a clearance breakable ornament and she just tossed it in the bag! I asked for paper to wrap it in after she quickly did my transaction and started checking out the next customer before I even had a chance to move out of the way! She wasn't paying any attention to my purchase. She quickly grabbed the ornament placed it in a smaller bag and once again tossed it in my bag with my other items! They always (usually) wrap breakables in paper. Hobby lobby always offers great sales each week in different sections of the store. And if the item you're looking for isn't on sale you can always go to their website and either print out their 40% off (one item-not on sale or already discounted) coupon or just show the cashier the coupon on your phone. Our hobby lobby has a great location with plenty of parking and lots of handicap parking. However the handicap door needs much...
ย ย ย Read moreGenerally speaking, I go there either for fabric, or for leatherworking supplies in a pinch. The store is notoriously expensive as they offer a 40% off coupon usable on any single item. As a result, almost everything in the store is marked up 200% or more to ensure they retain a hefty profit. Expect to spend an enormous amount of money on items that really aren't worth their sticker price.
That being said, they have regular sales of 30 to 50% off, and their clearance rack can hold some bargains. The staff is excellent and their customer service is as good as you could possibly ask for from a chain retail store, and even a little better still. They place an enormous amount of emphasis on home decoration, as this store primarily caters to housewives and househusbands, but if you have a specific hobby, they have a surprising selection of goods to meet your needs. Many of them are buried in the back aisles, but ask for help and someone will get you where you need to go. For those with hobbies, this store is excellent on a pinch when what you need is more important than how much you spend on it. For those who just want a place to buy a bunch of stuff they don't need, you can spend...
ย ย ย Read moreHobby Lobby is great if you love crafts, Christmas, or nice things overall. The store usually has what I need for any little oddity I'm working on at the moment for whatever muse I have in mind.
That being said, this place is usually pretty pricey for many of the items in the store. They host mega sales all the time (30, 40, 50, and sometimes 60 or 75% off), but it's obvious that the markup before the sale really is just to make the sale look better.
Also, I always joke with my wife every time I go in that it's the mecca for broken items still for sale at full price. Sure, they'll give you a discount at the register, but there are broken ceramics littering the store shelves on virtually every aisle that has them.
I also, can't really not mention the parking lot. This place is AWFUL to get in and out of, the striping in the lot (recently redone within the last six months as of this writing) is done stupidly that makes it even harder to get in and out without cutting through the lot, AND the entrance to the center that makes logical sense has been closed off since they "improved" the intersection at...
