I do uber as a side hustle I'm a lab assistant in college for nursing bsn set to graduate next year. I was delivering food to a woman named Maria H. I don't live in the area so the directions said meet at front door. I followed the gps and it led me to where the trucks unload there was a door I rung for security to give me directions they say go around until I see big windows I go around I see her I pull about 10 feet from where she was standing which was the front door she waves her arms in distress. I get out the car she immediately start bickering with me about how I should have met her at the front door and how I can't follow directions. Also that I parked too far away from her but I was obviously going to walk up to her to hand her the order. I park away from the entrance to leave space for priority customers like new clients or mail delivery just to be courteous and get out of every ones way I don't mind walking up to deliver its part of my job. She's flashing her phone in my face showing me the uber directions saying I can't see I can't read I don't understand I can't follow directions. Points to the painted traffic arrow on the ground and says I should have followed it. I'm using my car but on uber I put a bike because I wasn't approved for using a car because I recently got in accident. Ask me why I'm not on a bike. Ask questions and before I let out a mumble or word just talks over me doesn't give me a chance to stand up for myself just keeps attacking me verbally with insults. I'm just trying to make money I'm a single mom on my own. Parents and grandparents deceased. I told her you don't treat people like that or talk to people like that regardless of their status or appearance. I wasn't treated fairly by her we are all human and all make mistakes I actually rushed to get to her because she tipped 8$ and regardless of pulling up to the back instead of the front I was still 10 minutes early from her estimated delivery time. Bike or car you will still see my face if we're meeting up it matches my profile and you will still get your food on time EARLY if anything. I don't know if there aware how there employees treat people but they don't belong in a retail Buisness if they lack customer service. She showed her true colors and there was no reason for her to do so. After the delivery she changed her tip from 8$ to 55 cents. Her workplace was 17 minutes away from the restaurant where I picked up her food I made my best effort made a mistake and fixed it instantly. You confirm its me you take your food and go back to your Buisness no reason to argue with a uber driver in FRONT of the establishment that delivered your food early. You never know what someone is going through be kind to everyone is that so much to ask for… she should be ashamed of herself. For no amount of money do I have to tolerate disrespect and be belittled I won't stand for it I'm smarter than I look. If you run into Maria beware she's a undercover Karen.
