The stay was only ok. After seeing so many positive reviews I was excited to stay there. The hotel itself was very nice, but I was surprised that parking was so far from the main entrance. My choices were way off to the side, behind the building or the second level of a parking garage and then walking around and across a bridge and in. A little inconvenient, but not a deal breaker. Again, the hotel itself was very nice. Found out the pool didn't have a hot tub (the main reason I chose it due to having a very physically taxing job, it's nice to soak in hot water for a bit.) I assumed since there was a pool and it was a Marriott that naturally it'd have one, so again, surprised, but not in a good way. The room was nice, the beds comfortable. Everything was weirdly on a delay. So to adjust volume you hit the button and wait a second or two, same with channels, same with the light in the bathroom. Clicked it on and thought it was broken because it didn't turn on. Finally after like 5 seconds it came on. Doesn't sound like a long time, but usually something like a light switch is supposed to be instantaneous. The bathroom itself could have used an upgrade. Pretty sure the shower head was the original and the lever to turn it on gave the highest pressure at the skin-melting temperature, so when I turned it way down to be able to withstand the temp, I also lost a lot of pressure with it. The Bistro was nice. The food was tasty, and the floor manager was very attentive, but the bartender/server was not very good at her job. She was friendly and helpful but didn't put in an appetizer order in, asked how to make a Khalua and cream and we practically had to stare her down to get us our check which eventually the manager took care of anyway. I could overhear another table and they had to comp something to his check due to her error. They weren't busy in the least so it's not like she was slammed. As I slept the constant start up of the heater was interesting as the temp barely changed and probably due to that, but it ran constantly all night. Come to find the next morning when I went to the window it was due to an insane draft. Like, so bad I thought there was a hole in the wall. Breakfast was ok. I wasn't particularly hungry and found out after I booked a non-refundable room that it wasn't comp'ed. No big deal, it IS a Marriott after all...so I ordered a muffin. The top was so hard I thought it was plastic... The only major plus was that the hotel was literally a half mile from my job. Again, the beds were comfortable, the hotel was clean and aesthetically pleasing. The staff was courteous and helpful and it was fine for one night, but luckily I got the room at 40% off or else I'd be really upset about just how underwhelming it was... Needless to say, I won't be returning should I need to go back to the...

Make sure to check for any belongings before checking out, because the hotel WILL steal your things.
Stayed here for 2 weeks while looking for an apt in the city. After checking out and driving 5 hours back to family’s, noticed 1 of my things that was special to me was missing. Called the hotel, and management said they would check and call me back. Nobody called, so I did, and the manager Chris said it was found and he would leave in the office locked up with a note for when I come back in a couple weeks to close on our new apartment.
Came back to stay in the hotel, and my things were gone. Front desk called the manager and he denied ever having the conversation with me or leaving the voicemail. Played the voicemail for the staff. They double checked the office and lost n found, and my things were gone.
The next day I called the hotel after leaving, and spoke with the manager who was keeping it for me. It changed his tone from helpful to accusatory and said my stuff was gone and he’s not responsible but would send me a check and hung up.
The check never came. Neither did an apology. Called Marriott customer service and they opened a case. Regional manager Jeremy Robles gave me the corporate apology and I’ll resolve this spiel. But he didn’t. Days would go by and then I’d reach out, to hear him tell me he’s still working on it. 2 weeks went by and no word. After reaching out, he asked for a website where you could find similar item they lost, or send me a check. I sent a website link and said a check is fine (because I’m sure the item would be more hassle being sent). Another 2 weeks went by and no word. I reached out again. No word.
Then I called Marriott titanium service since I’m a titanium member, asking for help. 3 representatives later, I find out the regional manager no longer works at Marriott. (Thankfully I followed up). It’s now been almost 3 months of me going back and forth, because several Marriott people and the hotel have dropped the ball.
I finally get a rep named Areli that says they can send me a gift card for an amount that barely covers what my stuff cost, but that it would take 2 months to process before shipping out to me. (Making this whole thing take 5 months to resolve). No apology was given, and no consideration, points, or anything else was offered for the hassle and poor customer service up to this point that I’ve wasted a lot of time dealing with. When I asked to speak with a supervisor or someone else, I was denied and told no.
At this time, I’ve received nothing from the hotel or Marriott. Not even an apology, besides a canned one from a guy who doesn’t even work there anymore and didn’t follow up on what...
Read moreI stayed at the Courtyard Lyndhurst Meadowlands hotel for a weekend stay while meeting with people in nearby areas for the purpose of finding a place to live in New Jersey, as I'm in the process of moving states. Staying at this hotel helped me to relax and unwind between these meetings, as the moving process has been a rather stressful one. I really felt comfortable and nearly "at home" staying here. All of the staff I came in contact with (those at the front desk, as well as the cleaning and maintenance staff I exchanged hellos and questions with) were all very friendly - which makes a huge, important difference to me. I also want to compliment the exercise room and pool area: very nice and well-kept areas and the pool's water wasn't freezing cold like I've found at some hotels. I especially liked my room with the king-size bed. I slept very well and was very comfortable in that room, I had need for use of the desk in my room (which was a nice and spacious table area), and I also found the bathroom to be clean and quite spacious for just myself. One of the reasons I decided to stay at this hotel (it being my first time at that hotel) was because of the free wi-fi in every room. I needed to be constantly contacting people all weekend long, via FaceTime and text messaging and e-mail, as well as accessing numerous websites in my efforts to search for available places up for renting. So, it was much appreciated to have the hotel's wireless internet open for use. The only "stitch" at all to reference was the construction that was taking place all weekend while I was there. The first morning of my stay, I had to be rerouted around a different side of the hotel to exit from where I was parked. But one of the construction men was kind enough to guide me. The noise honestly wasn't a problem for me, but more generally speaking of it, I could see where it may have bothered some people. I was just a little startled, too, at the view outside my window of two construction workers working on the side of the hotel. They probably spent a total of about twenty to thirty minutes in view through my window. Again, I was able to not really let it bother me and continue to enjoy my stay, but it was generally a bit off-putting. However, I realize that sometimes there's no perfect time to have such work done.
Overall, it was a great place to stay among friendly and professional staff. It was pretty much just what I wanted and needed.
