I had a great stay at this hotel. I'd like to call out Nicole for being a great host, both professional and courteous, she made me feel very welcome.
The hotel itself I found to be above average for the class and rate. The room was cool and smelled great when I got in there. If you've stayed in lower end hotels you know a room smelling nice without any lingering odors is a key point. The bed was comfortable leaning towards the firm side, but not excessively so with plenty of pillows. The bathroom was well stocked with towels and toiletries (bar soap, body wash, shampoo and conditioner) and the shower had good water pressure. The room temp was easy to control, though if you want to set the temp below 68 you are out of luck as it doesn't go below that. I found that to be more than enough cooling overall. The room has curtains that completely darken the room during the day, which I needed as I went to bed early when the sun was still up.
The two queen room I stayed in is very large, with a desk space and table space available. They also have a power strip built into the TV stand with 12v outlets and USB chargers ports. There is a refrigerator in the room and a single serving coffee maker with several included coffee packs as well as non-dairy creamer and sweeteners. I stayed on the sixth floor and there is an ice machine on the same floor down at the end of the hall (I assume each floor has one, but didn't check), which was convenient for filling my cooler as that particular weekend got into the high 90s for temps.
Room cleaning was available by request, but I only stayed three nights so I never needed to call. I got setup with a Marriot Bonvoy membership so I could use the free wifi and found it to be more than adequate for streaming video. I did try using some of the free streaming services on the television, but the performance was pretty spotty so I ended up just using my tablet with the wifi.
There are a few other bits I could complain about in the room, but it's really nitpicking to find something negative and none of these things affected my stay. The cabinet door holding the refrigerator was a bit busted up and I felt like the design of the bathroom should have concealed the sink piping under the cabinet a bit better.
The hotel has a restaurant called Finch's downstairs with a bar area and a regular seating area. The place is very nice, looks brand new. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. I eat a plant based diet and found their options for this to be okay, better for breakfast than lunch or dinner. The prices are a little bit steep, but the service is excellent. If you are a very early riser you are on your own as the breakfast starts at 7am, but there are plenty of coffee shops in the local area.
Overall, I would definitely stay at the...
Read moreMy friends and are were not even a little happy with our stay here. We booked a room that was supposed to have 2 queen beds in it. Upon arrival, we were told that there weren't anymore rooms with 2 beds, but that they could offer a room that had a king sized bed and a pull out sofa bed. I'm sorry, a pull out sofa bed? We had 4 adults staying a room that we paid $200 for, I had pulled my back earlier that day, my friend is pregnant with twins and our guys are both over 6 feet tall, who exactly was supposed to sleep in that? Resigned to the fact that there were no other rooms to be offered, we went upstairs to check out the situation. The sofa bed was about 2 inches thick, highly uncomfortable and it wasn't made up with sheets or anything. I was highly aggravated and we decided that we would go downstairs to make it known that we were highly unhappy with our arrangements and see if there was anything they could do for us. Now I understand that you can't magically make a room appear out of thin air, but if you're hearing that someone is really dissatisfied with your accommodations, I would think that you would at least try to appease us in some way. Perhaps you could offer a drink at the bar, a free breakfast, SOMETHING. We even asked about a possible discount, which we were told was not going to happen. We paid $200 for a room that was supposed to have 2 beds, we got one bed and a pull out sofa bed from your grandmother's basement. The guy at the desk (I wish I had gotten his name) was not helpful or sympathetic. He even told us there was a way to have guaranteed the type of room we requested when booking, but apparently we didn't do that. I've never had to do that with any hotel I've stayed at before, and I don't see how simply saying "yes we need to guarantee we get a room with 2 beds in it" actually makes a huge difference. Like, do you put a notation next to our reservation that says "even though they requested a room with 2 beds, they actually confirmed on the phone that's what they want, so we better make sure to give it to them." Even down in Atlantic City, I've never had a problem like this before. You book a room with 2 beds, and that's what you get. That's how IT SHOULD work. So, my advice to others is, either DO NOT STAY HERE (that's my best recommendation) or when you call to book a room, you better actually say "the type of room I'm booking is what I should actually get when I arrive." Don't bother voicing your concerns or displeasure, because they will give you absolutely no help and no other solutions. Paying $200 to sleep on a sofa bed is absolutely ludicrous and I'm furious! I will continue to tell any and everyone who will listen about how terrible our stay here was and how horrendous the customer service and...
