You guys should be ashamed of yourselves! My wife and I brought two friends to Toyota Park last night for Bob Dylan's Americanarama. All four of us have been to Toyota Park several times in the past - both concerts and Fire games. But this will be our last time at Toyota Park.
I realize that you have no control over traffic and events outside of the Toyota Park grounds, but the traffic was the least of our problems last night. I grew up near Bridgeview, and know the area well. But I didn't think that driving from I-55, I'd drive by at least four entrances to the parking lot before I found the ONE entrance that was accessible from southbound Harlem avenue. As we drove by all of the unopen entrances - many of them with police or other uniformed people standing in them, we started joking that the traffic was so bad because there was probably just one person charging for parking. Well, the joke was on us. ONE person manning the parking lot for a stadium concert?!? We were waiting ONE HOUR from when we drove by the first closed entrance immediately south of the Harlem avenue bridge, until we got to our parking space. This is inexcusable!
Then after we got into the parking lot, more delays, because there was only one person checking bags at the entrance.
After we finally got into Toyota Park, we wanted to buy some food. The prices were higher than at Comiskey Park, Allstate Arena and United Center, (and the quality was worse) but once again, that was the least of our problems. We walked up to a register without a line, but it still took over fifteen minutes to get two Italian beefs and two beers. There must have been at least 12 people (probably more like 20, but I didn't count them) in the concession stand standing around doing nothing. $40 dollars for two of the worst Italian beefs we've ever had and two beers - served by a rude and lazy staff. What a bargain!
I'm getting even more frustrated just writing this e-mail, so I'm not even going to get into the rude security staff and the poorly thought out logistics of crowd flow inside Toyota Park. We paid $316 dollars for four tickets, ended up missing the first act (which was the one I wanted to see the most) due to the parking lot issues, missed most of the second act due to the rude and inefficient help at the concession stand and trying to get to our seats on the field.
I go to 20-30 concerts a year, and over 60 college and professional sporting events for personal and business reasons, but I'm going to go out of my way to tell everyone I can think of that they should NEVER go to Toyota Park. If I want to watch a soccer game, I'll go to the occasional games at Soldier Field or a DePaul game in Lincoln Park.

Read moreWell I've never been here, and now I feel like I didn't miss much anyways because the customer service is an absolute mess, which tends to say quite a bit more ,than thought, about the actual atmosphere. I bought tickets on a website that provided me wrong information. They don't have a phone number and their link to email them is broken. They're called songkick. So songkick had tool headlining on the 18th instead of the 19th. I ended up with system of a down tickets for the 18th Saturday. Luckily I took screenshots or else I would've been out 750 bux. I ain't rich! Well, being that songkick mislead me, and SeatGeek knows that they are ticket merchants for their events venues, I blame SeatGeek for not making things right with me. Instead they tell me that THEY will let me know when I can sell the tickets, to get my money back! ALSO they made clear that being that they're not at fault I should take it up with songkick. During my attempts over a 48hr period of trying to reach songkicks non existent customer service team, I gave SeatGeek another opportunity to make me feel like I wasn't being punished for something I was clearly misled into, they basically tell me that there was nothing else they can do for me. If you're a lower middle class Tool fan that lives in NY, I know deep down you will sympathize with me, that the opportunities to see this group at an affordable price are very rare. I probably won't get to see them again, they're getting a little older and by the time their next album after this one (that will be released, hopefully this year) I've already been waiting for over a decade comes out I'll probably be battling heathcare for an earpiece to be able to hear it. I'm just trying to be a little funny here but I'm really heartbroken and writing this made me feel somewhat better. Thanks for nothing, SeatGeek! Screw the idiots at songkick! Oh and it's my complete bad that I didn't go to the tool band website prior. I would've known straightaway that they rock the worlds soul on the 19th , and I won't be...
Read moreWhat the actual fork! THIS PLACE MADE ME FURIOUS. I ordered chicken tenders and fries and then was told that they would be out momentarily. I waited about two minutes. I had my partner stand in for me to retrieve the item while I ran to the bathroom. The staff was so incompetent that they gave away four orders of chicken tender baskets to others who had ordered after me. I was gone for five minutes at the restroom, then waited another seven minutes for more chicken tender baskets to be brought out. As the next round came out, I watched the attendant hand them to the next group who had ordered AFTER I had returned from the restroom. I screamed at the staff and said that I had been waiting for fourteen freaking minutes. This place needs to desperately get it together.
No no no. I will never order food from here.
My advice Put numbers to each of your cashiers (ie this is cashier 1, 2, 3) then as meals are made— a ticket spits out and you have your food runners bring the food basket to the appropriate cashier station IN ORDER of who ordered first. oh my word.
The whole stadium was equally disorganized. We came in through one entrance and our bags were not searched. Our companions came through a different entrance and their bags were thoroughly searched. Big red flags for safety.
It was so disorganized and I felt badly for the family who was not able to get a cup with a lid on it for their child because the concession stand was stingy.
Note: I came here for a Chicago...
