Taqueria Los Comales Bridgeview — Restaurant in Lyons Township

UPDATE TO MY REVIEW FROM 2018! Today is March 28, 2022 and ordered TAKEOUT from this place and that’s it NO MORE CHANCES!!! the dish I ordered (again the fajitas) is $22!!!! And I’ve ordered this PLENTY OF TIMES to know how much food should be in this dish and I cannot believe how little the portion was!!! I was literally shocked when I opened the container! There were literally 3 tiny pieces of chicken and 4 pieces (cut into bite size pieces mind you)of steak!!!!!! This is beyond unacceptable and yes I most certainly did contact Uber Eats and let them know that I was missing a complete item in my order because this was just unacceptable and will not pay $22 for something like that! Usually there’s a lot of “juice” with the dish as well and it was dry! Get it together Los Comales!!!! You’re losing customers left and right!!!!

We always come here to eat and the food has always been fantastic- but the past two times we came here (3/16/2018 and 3/2/2018) the food was terrible! I always get the fajitas with the shrimp, chicken and steak and it was awful both times- didn’t taste at all like how it has in the past. Yesterday it was all burnt to a crisp and the steak was rubber and there was barely any chicken(you would think they would skimp more on the steak or shrimp). The time before that the steak was all fatty and I was spitting out every other bite because I couldn’t chew it. And again, the taste of it was completely off- not how it’s supposed to taste. I don’t know if there are new cooks or what the deal is but these fajitas were my favorite and the last two times they were not good at all. My husband doesn’t want to go back at all but I’m hoping they will realize that the food isn’t good and do something about it! The waitresses are always great and all of them tend to all the tables. The cooks seem to be doing more “screwing around” then cooking- I saw one cook running to another area as if he forgot about something cooking and was burning the food. Another cook was flirting with the waitresses and they all just seemed to be concentrating on everything but cooking! Not good at all the past two times! Please do something...

If I could give this place 0 STARS I WOULD! This place is NASTY & UNSANITARY ITSELF!!! WORKERS DON’T GET THE IMPORTANCE OF SANITARY. The waitress who attended us didn’t even check up on us while we were dining in. She was mainly focused on getting out of work. She was cleaning the machines, flirting with a guy in Kitchen, & talking to the other waitresses who were also cleaning. Not to mention , when one of the cooks rang the bell to let the waitress know the food was ready he used a spatula he uses to cook in the kitchen which is really disgusting, & unsanitary. When we received our food there was a piece of hair on the food. Instead of the waitress or anybody there saying “I’m sorry about the inconvenience”. They just took the plate , brought a new plate & continued with their day. They are desperate for the money that’s all they care about they didn’t care if we were upset or anything, they still charged us for the food that had a long piece of hair stuck to the cheese, charged us for the tip that the waitress herself did not deserved at all. The food was not good at all, I would not recommend for anybody to eat at this location. OSHA NEEDS TO BE CALLED TO INSPECT! This place has to have more regulations when it comes to handling with food. No waitress should be handling food with their filthy hands after cleaning the machines or even touching a counter top. The lady who check us out was even rude her self who seemed like she just wanted to go home. While I was talking to my group she jumped in a conversation that had absolutely nothing to do with her! She had the ethnicity to tell me the cooks wear hair nets!! When I seen myself they didn’t have anything in their hair!! The waitress was about to win $25 for tip just for doing nothing just FLIRTING WITH THE COOKS LMFAOOO . This location is the nastiest restaurant I have ever ate at and I do not RECOMMEND NOBODYYY!!! First time to this place and it was a pleasant experience. Here's some things you may want to know about Los Comales. Its a taqueria place so don't expect a big menu is mostly Mexican fast bite meals. When arriving to the place please have a seat wherever you like so no need to wait on the door. Once you have a seat you will be greeted by the waiter and she will bring you chips and salsa along with menus. The menu will be a page long and here's what we order. We order a tampiqueña, camarones al mojo de ajo, tacos, and tamales. The tampiqueña was cook to perfection very juicy and the salsa for the enchilada was delicious as to the beans and rice was missing some flavor. The camarones al majo de ajo( garlic shrimp), taste a lot like bleach so i will sayx there past overdue but the season was ok with that being said, husband ate them as he is not pick. If that would of have been my plate i would of return them. The carne for the tacos was too well done, it will be nice not to overcook the meat. The tamales were small but good in flavor. We also had churros which they were cruchy on the outside and creamy on the inside. Perfectly cook!... let's not forget my coffee was the perfect cup of coffee. Some of the cons I will say, was that it took them about 10 minutes to bring me silverware so my food was not hot when eating it. I was a bit confused to who was my waitress as I was helped by different ones. I wouldn't say, the place was busy but it was steady. My overall experience was a pleasant.
