I rode this rollercoaster in 2005...it must have been brand new at the time. It was my first time on a big one. We sat at the front. My overhead harness did not click in like my buddy's. I tried to signal the attendant, but they were preoccupied with another rider. I tried to jump out, but we started moving. I looked at my friend and said,'I'm going to die in Gotham' I pulled the harness tight to my chest and concentrated on how I would have to react to the twists and turns. A minute felt like an hour. We came around the last corner and there was a straightway to the offload zone. I relaxed a bit. CORKSCREW!!! Don't know how I held on other than an above average strength level and understanding of physics. Threw up in the bush and licked my wounds in the splash park for the rest of the day while my friends rode the Superman lol. I was sore for two weeks from exerting so much effort. I told the park employees and wrote a letter to the company, but all they said was it was my word against theirs and have a good day. My best and ONLY rollercoaster story...
Β Β Β Read moreContrary to the family friendly Mind Bender across the way, Batman is an incredibly intense and fast paced ride. It pulls high g forces on loops and turns, whips you through corkscrews and rolls, and does all of those things one after another with very little time to breathe. Make sure you're hydrated and hang on tight so you don't get a headache.
Batman doesn't have much theming, but in the station you'll be in the batcave with rocks and a giant bat symbol. If you're lucky they may play the soundtrack from The Dark Knight, or even Batman '89. It sets the mood very well.
If you're a coaster lover and don't mind high gs and a bit of snap to your coasters, and if you like fast paced rides, Batman is one of the most intense coasters around. Though short, it has 5 inversions and an intense helix in the midst of it, and is one of the most awesome coasters...
Β Β Β Read moreBatman: The Ride has quickly become one of my favorite roller coasters of all time. It is butter smooth and has many great elements. Including different inversions, and a fun first drop. This ride is also located right next to Riddler: Mindbender which makes for some fun interactions. The queue on this one is also great. It's able to capture the darker aesthetic of some of the more recent Batman movies while still not going too dark (I mean, I could still see where I was going). The station is also themed to the Batcave and has some cool LED lights. One note of concern is that they tend to prioritize the fast pass people over everyone else when loading the front row. But that didn't affect me, so I won't complain.
Intensity Rating: 7.5/10 Overall...
