Since joining anytime fitness in 2016 I've been to about 20 other Anytime Fitness locations across the country Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Georgia, Florida, New Mexico, Arizona and of course Wisconsin. It is amazing how many clubs they have in every state, even in small town rural areas with no other gyms around. I never miss workouts when I travel. There was always a club near the place I chose to stay. Always in a safe area. Joining this gym was one of the smartest things I ever did. This location here on the North side of Madison will go down as my most favorite anytime fitness location of all time . A real life saver. I could not have achieved the degree of recovery I have without this gym. It is my favorite place to go in the entire city. I was seriously injured on a landscaping job that resulted in numerous surgical procedures on my back. Both the middle and upper back. Bi lateral sciatica and severe mid back displacement. It was doubtful that I would ever work out again. This gym brought me back to life. They let me put my membership on hold for 3 months when I was too injured to work out anymore. The skin on my arms and calves were sagging and wrinkled where there was once muscle. It's is a great place for physical therapy rehab and weight training. Great blend of free weights vs machines and an ideal place to work out for any level of fitness goals. There is a huge space in the back for doing physical therapy that I use nearly every day. It is surprisingly never overcrowded. No heavy traffic in this area, safe, convenient. Huge parking lot for easy parking. The restrooms are great, spacious, also very clean. There are 5 of them, 3 of them with showers. I love this club. It is often the highlight of my day to come here. I often come in not feeling motivated, not really wanting to work out and as soon as I step into the gym, a change over comes me, there is a positive energy here that breaks me out of my lazy thinking. I come out of the gym feeling like a brand new person. Suddenly the problems in my life do not feel so big anymore. I come in feeling tired and leave energized. I was able to regain most of my lost mobility and strength back. I lost about 15 lbs of fat and replaced it with muscle. It made a huge change in how I felt about myself. The greatest thing about coming here is how it gets fear and negative energy out of my body and replacing it with spirit of joy. Yes, I...
Read moreI entered and won a month of “free” personal training through a draw at a Sport Clips. Turns out you have to pay $45 for this free thing to cover some fees or something. I signed some papers and the guy went over some things with me. Really nice staff. One of the things that wasn’t explained to me was that after a week or so if you don’t cancel the “free trial”, you get stuck in a one year contract and have to pay $45/month. I know for a fact that it wasn’t mentioned to me because anytime I sign up for any type of limited trial I make sure to set my calendar to remind me to cancel it. Unfortunately the papers I signed did say in them that that’s what would happen. I wish it was brought up to me during the initial meeting as I would not be in this situation. I tried canceling it but they said I had to pay over $200 which is ridiculous. They also didn’t switch my automatic payment to $45 and on the 1st of the next month, and I got charged over $100 which was the actual amount for personal training if I had continued with it. I had set up automatic payments for some bills so them taking that amount out caused an overdraft fee from my bank. And then it took several days for that money to come back into my account. I’m really upset about all of this as I’m a student and have many other bills/loans to pay and struggle to keep paying this bill on top of everything else. You can go to Planet Fitness and get everything plus more for $20/month, so why would you even want to pay $45/month for a smaller gym with less equipment. From the staff I’ve met there I do think they’re really nice and friendly, and I don’t have a problem with any of them. I just wish there was some way for me to get...
Read moreVery angry customer.. I have been with AF for almost 7 years. I had a 2 year contract that Ive been wanting to get out of for a year but I knew I had a year left so I paid the monthly fees. After my contract was up I was relieved but found out that the last 3 months they have been charging me month to month... Without letting me now a heads up or anything. As a franchise they are not shy to run your credit card. I have nothing against anybody trying to better themselves by exercising or working in the fitness industry but this franchise is a gimmick. Why should they care so much about locking in a member to a contract. Money money money its disgusting.
I will not get a refund for 4 months of not even being on site once!!! They don't care one bit about me. I have worked for companies that go above and beyond to help their employees and this franchise is a gimmick. If you want real comraderie, challenge, family, fun environment. Go to any crossfit gym, they will welcome you. Or if your on a budget go to planet fitness...
Not going after anyone just a...
