Talbot Gallery 2118 — Attraction in Madison

I lived in Madison for years. His photographs of Madison bring me back to that great city. The colors and layout Talbot achieves make his photographs mesmerizing. His photos of people seem to immortalize them and put them in another dimension. I don't know how he does it. I have known Terry Talbot for many years, and consider him a great genius of photography.

I had the pleasure of visiting his studio recently during artists open house night in Madison. He shows lithographs and paintings by a number of other artists whose artworks and posters are offbeat and highly creative. Staring at them puts me in something like an altered state of mind.

I first worked with Terry when I needed a photographer for my mother's 85th birthday party. He was recommended to me by family friends who had hired Terry for both weddings and family photographs. Terry did an excellent job photographing my mother's birthday party. The photos were very nice and my mother and the whole family loved them. I later hired Terry to do the photography for my son John's high school graduation, and again later to take the photos at my daughter's college graduation party. Terry Talbot did a wonderful job photographing my daughters wedding. She and her husband love their wedding album. Terry was very easy to work with. My husband and I hired him to shoot the wedding. and he did a great job of photographing our family and friends both in the posed photos at the church and in the candid shots at the reception. His manner was relaxed and he never made us feel like he was hurrying us along. At the same time, he was very efficient and didn't take more time than was necessary for the family photos or the photos of our daughter and son-in-law and their wedding party.
