Russell is a helluva guy...kind, patient and SUPER thorough. He did great work on my 70s Rega turntable; it's never looked or sounded better. Very reasonable and flexible when giving options for repair/service; he'll make sure you get exactly what you need, offer options you didn't know you had, but also won't push you to spring for costly extras you may not want (or can't afford). Very good at making the best out of whatever budget you're working with.

If it's buying gear that you're interested in, he has a concise collection of great equipment always available, ranging from budget/entry level to high-end/audiophile.

The current appointment-only shopping is definitely worth it. If you're looking to buy a turntable/receiver/speakers--he has a nice space with the ability to audition pieces, in order to find what you like, and allows you his full attention while you're there. If you're in for repairs, he can walk you through what needs to be done and what your options are.

Bottom line: HiFi Haus is the place to go, and the shop Madison desperately needed....

Had a great time here shopping for my first home stereo set-up! Tons of cool new and vintage options. Russel was great about letting me test out any of the products I was potentially interested in, and helpful in determining where best to spend my money and still remain in my set budget. Russel was also great about recommending certain products, but was not pushy about trying to upsell something just for the sake of it costing more. Its clear that he has a passion for audio equipment, and trying to get the customer the best possible gear for their needs!

I will certainly be coming back in the future for any potential upgrades or repairs, and would recommend to anyone looking for some...

I’m sitting on my sofa, listening to Elton John through a brilliant pair of speakers that Russell helped me to find. He didn’t sell me. That’s not how he works. He introduced me to what I always wanted. He spent time, swapped stories, and even charmed my 13 year old daughter to the point she said “he would be a great uncle. You need to be friends with him.” I don’t gush about buying stuff. But this was a unique and incredible experience. He helped me find these speakers that I already adore, a turntable that is just incredible, and he made it feel like an experience of a good friend helping you, not a salesman making a sale. Spend your money with this man. He is unique...
