My now-husband and I hosted a welcome party for about 45 people at the Harmony on February 21st and it was one of the best nights of my entire life. I cannot thank all of the Harmony staff enough for their communication, kindness, and flexibility.
They were one of my easiest vendors, requiring a deposit (that got taken off our final bill!) in lieu of a huge contract with food and beverage minimums. The night of, they reserved tables for us in their dining room, we set parameters (we ended up with an open tab for drinks and food but they were willing to work with us throughout our time debating over open vs. cash bar), and we were well on our way. All of the staff were pleasant and gracious and didn't make us feel like an imposition. Our out-of-town guests (mostly from the east coast) were thoroughly charmed by the vibe, local beer, and cheese curds. The space was wonderful for everyone to meet and mingle. I can't stress enough how perfect it was; we had just as much fun the night before the wedding as the night of.
I had been to the Harmony a few times for lunch before this but my experience has made me, my family, and friends customers for life. Thank you, thank you, thank you! If you're thinking of hosting a party at the Harmony, consider this a sign to place...
Read moreCash only and order at the bar, but it keeps the prices down. The pizza is really good, bit I've only had it a couple times because their walnut burgers are arguably the best burgers in town. I recommend adding cheese to help bind it together. Burgers are big portions, bit you'll have to order sides separately. Sides are too much for one person so be prepared to split a basket. I recommend the house cut chips with blue cheese dipping sauce. Sometimes the chips can come out a bit over done, but usually they are a reason in themselves to visit. The bar and seating area show their age; worn and basic. The back room reminds me of a bingo Parlor. The staff are friendly if your patient and friendly back. They run a light crew for how many people the place can hold and are always running to take care of everyone at the bar. Folks on the Eastside of Madison know this as an established...
Read moreI went here to see a performance and it was decent. The drink prices are fair and the selection is diverse. There is ample space for standing or dancing near the stage and the staff seemed nice. The man running the sound board was... not too good at his job, to put it nicely. Sound check took way too long and really screwed with the bands and their start times. Also, the way they charge a cover for people seeing the band was odd. The stage is in a different area from the bar and everyone hanging near the stage paid the cover. A gentleman asked, are you staying for the band? And then took the money. He ended up having is back turned most of the time and people would trickle in and stay or watch for 15 minutes... so why did I pay if other people didn't have to? (I am all for paying the cover. Bands need to make their money. But police it better.) It left me with a...
