We stopped at this museum just because I saw a brochure at the LA welcome center and it wasn't far off our route. It was so interesting! There was a replica of the first submarine built for the Civil War, information about different boats used in this area, local lighthouses (I didn't even know they needed lighthouses in the bayou!), and some of the best dioramas I've ever seen. Plus, the volunteer on duty, Wes, was extremely friendly, helpful, and informative. Someone else had to remind him it was time to close up and go home!
