📍Social Restaurant in Madisonville & New Orleans. Social is built on the idea that great food brings people together. Designed for sharing, the menu highlights bold, vibrant Peruvian flavors. Founded by Omar Lugo of Habs Hospitality Group and Adolfo Gosálvez, former Executive Chef of Misión Ceviche (Michelin Guide-recognized), Socia blends Peru's culinary traditions with a contemporary touch. At Social, dining is more than a meal, it's an experience. #fyp #traveltiktok #neworleansfood #social #foodiesoftiktok

If you're anywhere near Madisonville and not eating at Social, you're simply doing life wrong. We kicked things off with the calamari, which—brace yourself—might just be the best we've ever had. Crispy, tender, and paired with sauces that made us question every other appetizer we've ever ordered. For the main course, I went with the short ribs, and I still haven’t emotionally recovered. Fall-off-the-bone tender, perfectly seasoned, and plated like a work of art. I posted a picture because words just don’t do them justice. My wife ordered the ceviche (yes, ceviche with a "v", and yes, it's that good), and let me tell you, it was as bright and fresh as a Peruvian coastal breeze. To drink? I had a Familia Zuccardi Malbec from Argentina—rich, smooth, and dangerously easy to fall in love with. My wife had a Chicha Sour, which was this gorgeous, tangy, purple dream of a cocktail. Whoever came up with it deserves a raise and a parade. Oh—and John was our server. Phenomenal. Funny, attentive, knew the menu inside and out, and didn’t miss a beat. Bottom line: Social is a rare gem. Go for the food, stay for the drinks, and leave planning your next visit. We already are.

Celebrating my son’s Golden Birthday (29 on the 29th) at the hottest new Northshore restaurant in Madisonville. This isn’t just great food. It’s exciting food. Kudos to Chef Adolfo Gosálvez, with years of Peruvian cuisine expertise, including Michelin guide Mission Ceviche in NYC. We enjoyed the various leche de tigre and aji Amarillo ceviches, causas, the buttery Arroz con Mariscos, Norteños beef Short Ribs with Kobocha squash puree, Tacos Acevichados (with nori, togarashi, quinoa furikake, and catch of the day tartare), the panko crusted chicken breast on green Peruvian noodles, plantains with togarashi and feta, and the chef’s take on Tiramisu, like a big green apple made from Lucuma (a creamy, custardy Peruvian fruit) coated in a green fruit roll up. A stunning dessert. Beyond the food, the restaurant is beautiful inside and out, the cocktails are excellent, and wine list nicely curated to complement the cuisine. Starting with Pisco Sours all around, a meal fit for a Golden Birthday and a son worth celebrating!

Poor experience, decent food

We made this reservation for my wife's birthday 2 weeks in advance, showed up on time, and were seated outside where there was no fan or patio or anything. Just a porch outside the restaurant facing the street. It felt more like a waiting area than a dining area. when we asked if we could be seated inside since we had a reservation, our waitress asked if we specified indoor seating on the reservation. I said there was no place to choose indoor or outdoor when I made the reservation and that there was no indication outdoor seating was an option. She said it would be over an hour before they could seat us inside because the remaining tables were being held for people who made reservations but called in to clarify they wanted to be indoors. Never in my life have I made a reservation online and been seated outdoors.

We ordered appetizers, and the calamari and herb guac were both very good. We ordered entrees and had mixed results. The short rib was very good, but it was a small portion for the price tag. The paella had good flavor but was not very generous on protein. The wings were too fatty, and the fries were very bland. The filet mignon did not come out with everything else, and after about 10 minutes I stood up to inform our waitress we were missing my wife's entree (nobody had come to check on us in all that time). She went back to the kitchen to check on it and then came out to tell us it had been given to another table and they were just starting a new one. At this point, we asked to speak to a manager (first time my wife or I has ever done this at a restaurant)

We told the manager how we'd had a poor experience based on the reservation and my wife's entree being given to the wrong table. He also questioned me about how I made the reservation and whether I specified to be seated indoors. When I showed him on my phone that the reservation only gives an option between restaurant and bar, nothing about indoor versus outdoor, he said something to the effect of "Oh because you are using Google instead of the OpenTable app." First of all, Google reservations are powered by OpenTable. Secondly, I always make my reservations through Google, and every other restaurant seems to get it right. Thirdly, if your restaurant offers multiple ways to make reservations, you should make sure they provide accurate bookings, especially when you are trying to provide a fine dining experience. Nobody wants to sit outside midsummer in South Louisiana

After all this, my wife's filet finally comes out, but it is rare when she ordered medium. We sent it back of course, but at this point we had all had our food for 25-30 minutes and were pretty much finished, so we just took the steak to go. The flavor was good once it was done right.

To the manager's credit, we were not billed for the filet, we were given a round of drinks and dessert for our troubles, and we were given a gift card for our next trip, but the experience was already ruined for us. I am not sure we will be back to use the gift card.

I understand mistakes happen, but it seemed that every mistake was met with justification or even shifting the blame to us about the reservation instead of first being apologetic and trying to make the rest of the...

First off, the atmosphere and food was AMAZING. We definitely plan to go back and try more items on the menu. We only had a slight issue, and I hope you don't take this as me complaining. It's really just some feedback.

We had dinner a few weeks ago on Saturday, June 7th. Our reservations were for 9PM. We would have made reservations earlier, but our schedule that day really wouldn't let us come until late in the evening. We got there promptly at 9, and the place was packed. Definitely cool vibes, and the greeters were very welcoming.

When I checked in with the hostess, I could see that my name on the list was literally the last one. We were immediately taken to our table in the back, served water and brought the menus. We placed our app, food, and drink order all within 5 minutes of being seated. This is where I had to remove 1 star from the review. At 9:12PM, our entire order came out all at once. Yes, 12 minutes from being seated, about 7 minutes after ordering. Appetizer, two main courses, and a cocktail to share. We were a little surprised the appetizer (calamari) didn't come out first with the drink. I understand that we were the last seated table of the evening, but it definitely felt like the kitchen was rushing to get the last orders out so they could start cleaning for the night.

While the food presentation was beautiful, and everything tasted great, it was all just entirely too quick. We just about finished our meals around 9:25ish, and barely sipped our drink. (We wouldn't have ordered it or the appetizer had we known our meal swould come so quick.)

That said, it was a really nice date night, and we were out walking along the river by 9:35ish, but for paying well over $120 for a dinner that lasted barely 25 minutes, we left a little disappointed.

Next time we go, we'll plan on getting there no later than 7ish and hopefully enjoy a longer dinner with more time to talk, drink, and SOCIALize.

An aside, very happy you guys came to Madisonville. Y'all have a really good thing going, and we really hope for long,...

We’re so excited that Social finally opened!! My husband and I went last Friday to try it out. The restaurant is beautiful, and we love every detail, including the music, the ambiance, etc. The food and drinks were delicious, we loved the ceviche, the lomo saltado, and the drinks were amazing, we tried the Inka soul, a Maracuya sour and a margarita. We had a few issues with the service (I will chalk it up to being only the second day open). We waited for the hostess to even acknowledge us while we waited to be seated, all while we were standing right in front of them. We had reservations for an indoor table, yet we were seated outside. Our server was just ok. We ordered our drinks as soon as we got the menus, and we waited for a long time to get them; I do understand they were busy. We got our food, and we still did not have our drinks. The server told us he would bring them soon, and he would not charge us for them since we had waited so long. Eventually, after we ate our food, we got our drinks, which were delicious! Once we got the bill, we still were charged for them. Again, I am hoping most of the service issues were due to being only the second day open, being extremely busy, and maybe a few employees with little experience in the service industry. The best service we received was from one of the young man, a busboy, he kept coming to our table checking on us, while you could see he was nervous, he was very attentive, very sweet and he was really trying to do his best. We will go back; we’re just hoping for better...
