Hole in the Wall — Attraction in Mammoth Lakes

Nice hike, best in the morning. My 7 year old wanted to go, so go we did! It is steep but not a long hike and the vistas once you close are amazing! My son and I weren't as intrepid as Jansen was so we didn't get close enough to see down the tube let alone climb down into it, but during the winter this is an expert run for skiers and from what we learned it can be very challenging due to ice that can form. Steep hike from the campgound. Beautiful vistas. You can stop at the top of the canyon, dirt surf down, then spend an hour slipping and crawling your way back up. Or, just stay at the top of it, it's pretty cool....
