This review is several months overdue. I cannot say ENOUGH good things about The Curvy Bride. Where to even begin?

I was actually referred to them after having a lackluster plus-size experience at another chain boutique. The consultant there was a curvy girl herself and was kind enough to be honest with me and recommend I check out The Curvy Bride instead.

All of their reviews were super positive and promising so I was really excited to check it out, and boy, I was not disappointed! Right when I walked in for my appt, there was a personalized sign at the front desk welcoming me by name. Such a sweet, thoughtful touch.

The shop manager sat down with My mother and I, offered us snacks and asked me what I was looking for, my do’s and don’ts etc. I had read on their website that they recommend ordering a dress a year in advance. Being that my reception was only about 7-8 months out, I fully intended on looking for off-the-rack only so I could purchase something that day to take home. But the manager assured me that there were several designers they carry that could be ordered and altered in time, and they were careful to ONLY pull looks for me to try on that could in fact meet this deadline, which was so kind.

Then I met my lovely consultant, Kaitlyn. Super warm, personable and incredibly talented at what she does. She pulled a whole 7-8 dresses for me to try on in my desired style, and each one was more beautiful and flattering than the last! As a curvy girl that has gained quite a bit of weight over the last few years, I have not been feeling particularly confident or beautiful in my body lately, so to have so many flattering choices was emotionally overwhelming.

All the dresses were stunning but we finally narrowed it down to a top two, then ultimately finalized “THE dress.” I was actually moved to tears, and I am not a girly girl that expected to do this. I’m not sure it was so much the perfect dress as it was just feeling so supported and accepted by everyone in the room - they truly made me feel beautiful, a feeling I haven’t felt in a long while.

After picking the dress, even the owner of the shop personally came and double checked my measurements to help me order the perfect size - it should be in by December or early January, with just enough time to do 3 months of alterations for my April 2025 reception. All 3 ladies were so personable and attentive, oohing and aaahing and they really made me feel special. It is by far the best customer service experience I have ever had in my entire life, and I am so grateful I found them.

As if this fabulous consultation wasn’t enough, a few weeks later I received a hand-written “congratulations/well-wishes” card in the mail from my consultant Kaitlyn - it was a true testament to how genuinely these women love what they do, with a passion. There are so many positive things I have to say about The Curvy Bride. 10/10 for sure! It starts with the ease of the website for booking appointments. I called to ask a question and the owner, Michelle, called me back on a day that the salon isn't even open. I also had to call the day of my second appointment and Pervin answered "Hey Nicole!" immediately as if I was calling a friend. So personal, great customer service.

We worked with Maria, Pervin, and Michelle between our two appointments. All three of them are lovely and every single second from when we walked in the door until leaving the building we felt and were treated like beautiful women. They are so body positive and had not one negative thing to say about any of the dresses my fiance and I tried on. We were looking for two dresses and arrived a little early for the appointment. I called to see if we could come in a half hour early and we were welcomed right in. The appointment lasted two and a half hours (way longer than the scheduled time) and I did not feel rushed at all. Michelle kept picking out dresses for me to try on because I was so undecided on what I truly wanted. There were sleeves I loved from one dress and wanted to add them to another, and Pervin called the dress maker and they were able to sell the sleeves separately if I wanted them! Above and beyond all expectations.

Their dress selection is amazing and the dresses are all in sizes that you can't find at most bridal shops. I had previously gone to another bridal salon and had a terrible experience because all of the dresses were too small. Not at The Curvy Bride! Even if a dress wasn't our size, Michelle used her clips and tucked everything in to make it feel like and look like it fit. On top of all of that, you have the entire salon to yourself during your appointment, so you have the full attention of the staff and a personalized experience that is so hard to find! No trying on dresses next to a size 0 or not having enough seats for your entourage. Plenty of space and seating for everyone to enjoy the experience with you!

A friend we brought with us is a type 1 diabetic. Her sugar was getting low and Michelle offered her a snack to help get her sugar back up. We truly felt that even though we walked in as strangers, we left as friends!
