Ocean County Library - Manchester — Attraction in Manchester Township

One of the finer libraries that I've had the pleasure. It's very well stocked n maintained. The atmosphere is inviting n comfortable. Wednesdays are the movie matinee's. Both classic's n the recent releases. My only negative experience occurred this afternoon while watching the 3:00 pm showing of the movie " UNBROKEN ", excellent flick. I had the most disturbing contact with one of the many seniors, who for the most part are okay n mind you, I conduct myself in the most respectful manner with respect to their age. My seating was in the last row near the rear exit door. I had turned my phone's sound to "MUTE". I rec'd a text from a dear friend. From the opposite end of the seating row this woman approached me in a manner that not only was a complete surprise but disturbing in her delivery to say the least. She angerly told me to take it, my phone outside. In my surprised attempt to quietly quell the uncomfortable n surprisingly encounter only seemed to cause her to become really angered. I will not quote her salty language here as I was shocked n surprised at this sudden ordeal involving someone who I'd normally expect a different approach to the given situation. The ordeal left me feeling surprised upset n in awe of this woman's behavior. It seemed as if she had it out for me from some past life encounter. Needless to say I decided against staying due to her angry glares in my direction. My Lord was this a sneak preview to some octerian Rocky Horror flick with Ms. Meanie in the starring role ?. Other then this isolated instance I've enjoyed every moment of my time spent in the Manchester branch library. I stand by my 5...

Large selection of books and good hours. They have a large meeting room but they never use it when they have singers and musicians performing. The Library is open 6 days a week and has long hours. It is very close to Manchester Township Town Hall and is up the road from the EMS and Fire Station. They offer programs for kids and teens. It has a warm and inviting atmosphere. Best ocean county branch for children. They have a staff for the kids that treat them so well. The do ready contests and really engage and make my kids want to go to the library.
