Trading Card Market — Attraction in Manchester

Went out to this location about a week ago now and what a treasure! I had no idea that there was something like this in St. Louis. I had actually wanted to hit a few shops looking for singles and not wax and as others have stated, singles is not this place’s core competency. I actually love the business model. So many shops try to be ALL THINGS to ALL PEOPLE and they wind up an absolute mess. Dealing in singles is a racket that this place just does not need. They are great at wax and supplies and their staff is incredibly helpful and friendly. Easily the largest selection of wax in the St. Louis area. Store is clean, neat and organized and while the products are not marked it is easy to get pricing from staff. I found the pricing to be fair- at or slightly below market plus save postage costs by visiting the location. THEY HAVE EVERYTHING. You have to respect the major investment they have made in the hobby, the warehouse with nationwide shipping and just the HUGE selection of any wax you can imagine. This...

Update: After further research and explanation from SCM, the choice box has less packs than the hobby set and other sites are priced accordingly. So I have updated my review to 3 stars. The package still came dented which is unfortunate and they did offer me a refund, but I think it really should have came undented considering the item being purchased.

Buyer beware. Read carefully what you buy. I bought a hobby box set online which I thought was supposed to have 4 packs and ended up being 1 pack per box. I should have been more careful. Just be careful and know exactly what you are buying. The product page should have included exactly what you are buying with the number of packs per box and not just the picture. Other items such as number of cards per pack would also help. This is coming from the uninitiated for trading cards. I will definitely not be buying from them again.

This store is an excellent spot for TCG accessories—they have just about everything you could need in that department. Their general stock is solid, and the convenience of being right off Manchester road is a nice bonus. However, their pricing is a major drawback. Many booster packs and boxes, which aren’t even hard to find, are marked up nearly twice as much as you’d pay elsewhere. This is because they base their prices on the median listing on TCGPlayer, rather than actual sale prices. As a result, their prices fluctuate frequently—sometimes even by the hour. While the selection is great, the inflated costs make it hard to justify supporting them. If you are going to buy from this store, I recommend pre-ordering the products so they can't suddenly hike...
