My family's favorite buffet to this day. Where to begin...
Seafood! Inexpensive seafood. :)
Crawfish (yum). Typically cooked decently with just the right amount of kick.
They also have crab, maybe some kind of a mud crab... a smaller more inexpensive crab. Its work to get the meat out but its delicious. They also have calamari which is sometimes a little tough on the buffet tables, but you can also get calamari cooked on the Hibachi grill... on the Hibachi it is typically cooked nicely.
They also have mussels on the half shell, served cold. And sometimes they rotate in smaller mussells that are steamed with vegetables. They only have these available occasionally, and they are delicious.
The Hibachi grill is awesome. Its a nice bonus and will please even the pickiest of restaurant goers in your family.
Large selection of buffet food beyond seafood. Many types of chicken. Gen Tso, black pepper, etc. Various vegetables/greens. Potatoes.
The sushi is typically pretty good... sometimes it looks like the wasabi isn't fresh, perhaps leftover from the night before. Head's up there. But the sushi typically is pretty good with a nice selection.
Cleanliness. Remember this is a buffet, so they get pretty busy. Fair considering. Clean enough, in my opinion. The bathroom is another story (you've been warned :/ ).
Service is hit-and-miss. Either the server is buzzing by filling your drink right away and taking plates or your glass is been sitting empty for who knows how long and you have to flag someone down to take your empty plates. And FYI, your server may or may not be able to speak English. Lately, the removal of plates and refilling of drink glasses has been lacking.
The person at the register will typically smile when he is seating you and smile when you are checking out at the front. Not the friendliest per se, but not the unfriendliest either.
If you go too early, the food may not be very fresh. If you go too late or too close to closing time, either they may run out of some foods (i.e., crawfish OR they will not replenish certain foods).
Bottom line- cheap food considering you get plate after plate after plate. For $18 (it's cheaper Monday through Thursday), you can eat as much as you want and that includes seafood. Just don't expect...
Read moreNow I usually try to be considerate of establishments and that mistakes do happen, however I find it hard to when an establishment clearly has none for its customers and I need this to be share my experience as i hope that it may spare others from my experience and the management responsible for it.
I brought my family here for Christmas. Drove 30+ minutes out of our way to come here and wanting to enjoy dinner as a family. Came as a group but specified to the hostess that we wished to be separate for billing purposes. She acknowledged it and said okay. Never saw our server after being seated. No refills or clean up. Okay sure. The food itself was mediocre at best. At the end of it, we were charged as a group and with gratuity despite my specifying separate billings, but what got me was the size of the tip expecfed for a service we never received. I expressed again wanting to separate the billing and once received, saw upon closer examination, we still were not only charged the same gratuity rate but the tip itself came out even more than it was when it was altogether and again, imagine almost $30 for a service that was never received. If tips were optional perhaps I'd have been a bit more accepting but considering that it was not and more importantly management itself was clearly not caring to listen. why would I? Lastly, I found it very apalling that when asked why my 9 year old daughter was charged as an adult( $20 per adult), all they could was shrug and say yes rather than actually address the fact younger children eat cheaper but also address the numerous issues with this situation. It's also clear that they set the age groups so low as to simply garner more profit. On top of the added and not optional tip, it is hard not to feel blatantly taken advantage of when overharged for a service never provided, especially with a management that displays such a clear sense of apathy and annoyance toward its customers and on Christmas no less!
Needless to say. I will not be ever returning here and neither should you. Save your money for an establishment led by people who actually care for it's...
Read moreIf you're seeking a satisfying Chinese buffet or Hibachi grill experience, look this restaurant falls short in both regards. From the moment we were seated until the end of our visit, the service and food quality left much to be desired.
Upon being seated, we received our drinks promptly, but unfortunately, that was the last we saw of our server. Throughout the meal, there was no effort made to check on us for refills or to clear our plates. This lack of attention marred what could have been a more enjoyable dining experience.
The food itself was a mixed bag, leaning heavily towards disappointment. Many dishes were described as subpar and lacking in flavor. While some chicken dishes were decent, they were in limited supply as the better options quickly disappeared. I opted to avoid several dishes altogether due to concerns about their freshness and potential health risks, as it seemed some items weren't stored or served at appropriate temperatures.
Adding insult to injury, the advertised Hibachi grill, a centerpiece of their offering, was inexplicably closed due to staff absenteeism. We were informed by Ellie, who claimed to be in charge in the absence of a manager, that no one had shown up for their shift. This raises serious questions about the restaurant's management and their commitment to delivering on their promises.
It's baffling how a restaurant can prominently feature a Hibachi grill in its name and marketing, yet fail to provide this service without any adjustment in pricing. Charging full price for an incomplete and disappointing dining experience only compounds the frustration and disappointment felt by patrons.
In conclusion, our visit to this was a regrettable experience. From poor service to lackluster food quality and unfulfilled promises, this establishment leaves much to be desired. It's difficult to understand how they continue to operate with such glaring issues. Save your time and money and explore other dining options that value both the quality of their food and the satisfaction of...
