Always entertaining and accommodating.
This weekend's performance of the Spelling Bee met the usual good standards expected from 30 by Ninety. The performers put their heart and soul into their performances and do not disappoint.
One small observation that I'm pretty sure no one but me noticed ... John Wesley played a character who at one point was portraying a “tray vendor” selling candy concessions to the audience. The tray was suspended by a ribbon strap around his neck and attached to the tray. During the performance the strap broke and the tray began to fall. John had amazing reflexes! As the tray began to fall he grabbed it and held it in place while singing a song and interacting with eye contact with the audience. He didn’t miss a beat and saved a would be disaster of 30 or 40 small packages of candy falling all over the stage AND made it look like it didn’t happen! GOOD JOB JOHN!!
P.S. Thanks for the new seats...

Since then, I've seen The Importance of Being Ernest, Murder on the Orient Express, and Lucky Stuff. The cast all have their own acting styles and project without overacting. The music is catchy. The costumes are fun and creative. And my favourite part; the practical effects! The Murder on the Orient Express was able to capture different parts of a moving passenger train through the use of efficient stagehands and ingenious set design. Quinton Williams and the actor who played Ms. Trunchible/Algernon Moncrieff always steal the show, but the whole cast is great! Elizabeth Lyon was perfect as Rita La Porta in...
Read moreWent there for comedian night last night for the first time. Believe management should be more careful about the sort of comedy acts they allow there. Some of those , one in particular, came out with the most crass, grossly vulgar lines that could ever come out of a human’s mouth. It was as if it was an attempt to see if it was possible to just totally groo someone in the Audience out. I’m by no means a prude and have heard some pretty crass, vulgar stuff, I thought until I heard this. Not sure I want to go there...
