Mandeville Bake Shop (MBS) $11.67 in donuts (7 count, mixed) 1) Cinnamon twist - cinnamon flavor is somewhat faint on this one. And that hurts because it’s why I bought it. So that’s a loss. The texture is amazing. Almost pulls apart like a melty cheese pizza if a doughnut was a pizza. But it’s not. You’ll see. Maybe? It’s a much bigger size and I believe more labor intensive hence the much higher charge than a regular donut. The twist costs $2.70 alone. It has a subtle crispy crunch to it which does add to the twisty experience. Tasty 7.5/10 2) Buttermilk - the buttermilk flavor was so strong it was almost citrusy. The texture was significant. Great chew and full bodied. Amazing 10/10 3) Chocolate iced/glazed - this one has a great consistency. Chocolate flavors can all meld together and be lost. That is not the case here. The icing is a completely different taste, and of course texture, to the chocolate of the doughnut bread itself. So you get two chocolate flavors at once! Which is great because you get to study and focus while you eat. Eating isn’t just shoveling and nourishment. It’s also an exercise of wit, if I may. You must enjoy it right down to trying to catch separate and complementary flavors. Hot and cold; sweet and spicy
you know the drill. So enjoy your food beyond, “Hey, this tastes good.” It can actually become, “Hey, THIS doughnut tastes different from THIS (very same) doughnut.” Amazing 10/10 4) Blueberry glazed - this is a funny one, in a good way. The first thing you experience is the slightest crunch from the dried-on sugary glaze. It gives a texture you wouldn’t have to the otherwise seeming cake-style donut. Then it’s a whoosh of blueberry flavor. I love these designs because it combines fruit and doughnut. Sounds weird but it works because blueberry is one of the sweeter fruits. So why not add sweet to sweet and gild the lily? It is also nicely sized. Amazing 10/10 5) Cinnamon cake - cake donuts are typically dry and it’s acceptable enough; for me anyway. I actually love stale cookies/desserts. But hey, blame it on growing up poverty level? This is dry and still moist so it was perfect execution. The seasoning doesn’t all fall off. It clings very well so each bite is greatly and evenly dusted with sugar and cinnamon. The bite is a full crunch with the sugar and yet spicy with the cinnamon fusion. It is on the small side which I’ve never known why cake donuts tend to be smaller. Smaller than their sister donuts at MBS anyway. Amazing 10/10 6) Chocolate Bavarian - A classic great. It’s flimsy and collapses so take care you’re not over a surface that doesn’t need creaming. Speaking of, the Bavarian cream is a nice contrasting “cooling” effect to the “warming” effect chocolate has on the palates. Conundrum donut. The cream has a texture and taste of significance. It doesn’t relay cheapness. This bakery really puts love into their products. Thus, we can trust them; I trust them. Do you? Will you? The chocolate glaze is the same as used on other styles of donut at the MBS. Good AND tasty 10/10 7) Chocolate glazed - nothing to write home about. Simple chocolate flavor, not a strong one, mind you. Smaller build. Decent 6/10 Christy, cashier(?), was attentive and kind. Patiently explaining what each donut was for my ignorance’s sake. She was a nice person to work with and I appreciated her help! Price listings are practically nonexistent. It’s a pet peeve of mine BUT it’s such a common thing now. It seems places just take for granted we don’t care about our money and will spend it blindly. Shoot even the rich don’t do that, well they especially don’t do that. Still it’s nice to see what costs what instead of afterward on an itemized receipt. Culture becomes stranger and stranger. Even in my quaint, little Mandeville. —Digression— Highly recommend these donuts. It’s been around since I was young —and that’s when dirt started to become popular. Try these guys out!

Mandeville bake shop sells donuts, pastries, cakes, pies, king cakes, and many other delicious treats that increase my blood sugar. Don't get discouraged though, moderation is key. I doubt your going to be eating donuts and pastries as if it's the zombie apocalypse, and only items left on the shelves. So go ahead, splurge a little and live life on the wild side every once in a while. If you absolutely must count your calories and monitor your blood sugar levels, you can feel less guilty trying one of there minis. If you have a major health concern you wouldn't be there anyway or reading these reviews, right! We got our daughters first birthday cake here and is was to die for, not in a literal sense though. We choose a Unicorn theme to add a little magic to our baby girls special day, (and add a little fantasy and color to our usually monotonous days). We had the three almond flavor with raspberry filling. I don't even like raspberries and it wasn't my idea, and even I loved it. Check out how cute this cake is, and this little Superstar of ours as well. đŸ€© Thank you Mandeville Bakeshop!

My grandma in law was kinda enough to surprise us with a cake for a joint birthday. At first glance the cake is beautifully decorated however they didn’t listen to her color preference she asked for it to be pink and blue. The cake its self was very dry and did not have a great flavor tasted old like it wasn’t fresh at all even though the told her it was made earlier that morning. The icing had an odd gritty texture. The filling inside was alright but for strawberry didn’t have a strong flavor was very bland. It’s very unfortunate as I really wanted to enjoy this but everyone was so displeased and brought it up that my poor grandma felt like she let everyone down. Hopefully if we ever order another cake it will be better but I don’t see us returning anytime soon.

We ordered our wedding cake here about 2 months in advance and paid in full. We were confident about everything being set up for our big day until 3 days before our wedding we got a call to confirm pick up. The issue is our cake was supposed to be delivered. We were told if we ordered enough to feed 100 people, delivery was included. My brides cake feeds 75 guest and we were told if we added a grooms cake that would meet the minimum count so we did. When we called to discuss that it should be delivered instead of picked up we were basically told that was never discussed even though we have 2 receipts (one for brides cake and one for groom cake) that said the delivery time and location. We were then told it could be delivered for an additional $100 after already spending $500+ on the cakes and that the delivery time had to be at 11 despite us not having access to the venue until 1. We were thankfully able to find someone to pickup our cake on the day, but it was a huge inconvenience for us to have to worry about along with our family who had to make arrangements to pick it up for us. The cake tasted good and looked pretty (not $500 quality but nothing specifically to complain about) but customer service is the reason we will not be doing business here anymore. We felt like we were lied to and had unnecessary stress added to an already overwhelming week and there was no offering of support to help and try to make this right for us. The two stars are again because the taste and presentation of the cake was nice, but customer service is what really counts in a business and for an important event like a wedding they truly...

I usually don’t make complaints but my kids notice the treatment so I feel I have to say something. Not that it would even matter. My 6 y/o son had his tonsils removed & of course can only eat soft foods. The Doctor ok’d for him to have a donut’s. Since Krummel’s is rated the best bakery on the Northshore we thought we would take a ride to enjoy so good sweets. While entering the store I noticed a older lady behind the counter not doing anything so I walked up to her but she never acknowledged me or my boys. Instead she walked away & down where another young lady was helping a customer & proceeded to assist them. That’s right 2 people helping 1 customer. Foolishly I stood there because thats was my sons only request. Donuts!!! 2 or 3 minutes later someone came up to help us but in the midst of her helping us other customers begin to walk in & that same older lady stopped want she begin to do earlier & greet the customers but also ask how could she help the next person. My 12 y/o ask why didn’t that lady greet or try to help us when we walked in? Of course I respectfully said. Someone came up to help so don’t worry about it. I don’t ever want to make anything out of a racial matter. We have enough of that. But to the older lady behind the counter at Krummel’s Bakery of Mandeville today July 21, 2022 I feel my kids & I was completely ignored by your behavior upon our arrival because of our skin color. We can’t make it a better world with...
