I recently had the chance to rent an e-bike from manhattan beach bike rentals and it helped set the tone for my week ahead!
The rental shop is perfectly situated. after a long weekend, I just wanted to feel the wind in my face and it was super convenient to hop on an e-bike and ride from Manhattan to Marina del Rey.
The staff at the shop were fantastic! He welcomed me with a warm smile and took the time to explain how the e-bike works, including the various modes of assistance. They also provided local recommendations for the best routes along the beach.
The e-bike I rented was new, sleek, clean and equipped …It had a powerful battery and the ride was incredibly smooth. E-bike are perfect for when you meet to do minimal peddling.
I cruised along the beachfront, feeling the ocean breeze and stopping to snap pictures of stunning vistas. The e-bike made it easy to cover more ground without feeling exhausted,
Renting the e-bike can get quite pricey. Due to the cost, I couldn’t rent one as often as I want to. I rented just for an hr since it was nearing the end of their day, but a solid 4 hrs would be ideal. There's always the beach cruisers for a fraction of the cost. They also run a Tuesday special on their e-bikes rentals!
In conclusion, I highly recommend Manhattan beach bike rentals to anyone looking to enhance their beach experience. With amazing service, top-notch e-bikes and cruisers, convenient location, and breathtaking views, this rental is a must for...
Read moreUpdate on original review since horrible second experience with this business:
We rented e-bikes from here and one of them was defective and while I was riding the bike on the strand the chain suddenly came off and locked up the bike. Almost had a major injury. Then when I called this shop to report it, the manager Augustine (incredibly rude and unprofessional) told me over the phone that I would have to take it to a bike repair shop myself and then they'd reimburse me for the repairs. I said I had no way of getting this heavy e-bike to a repair shop (my car was back near their shop where I picked up the bikes and we had rode several miles from there already) and needed someone to come pick me and the bike up. I obviously couldn't carry a bike that wouldn't ride over a mile or so to the nearest shop. Augustine just kept saying that all they could do to help was to tell me where a bike repair shop was and they would not help in any other way. Thankfully another employee eventually came out to us and swapped the bikes for us, but when I got back to the shop Augustine again was rude and patronizing telling me I should have read the contract (which doesn't say anything about if their bikes break, you have to take it to a repair shop yourself). Regardless, it was no way to treat a customer. Bikes that break and a rude manager. They've lost a customer in me. I'll find another place and recommend that you do as well, at least until they replace this...
Read moreFirst and foremost the shop, bikes, and especially the staff were wonderful. The electric bike seemed like new. Very clean (like the shop itself) and well maintained. Easy to rent and easy to ride. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and eagerly will take the time to answer questions. I was flying home later in the evening and was able to leave my bag at the shop while out riding. Second... location, location, location. Minutes from the incredible Marvin Braude Bike Trail running along the South Basin coast and in my favorite part of LA, picturesque Manhattan Beach. In an afternoon that was a bit blustery I (a 64 year old out of shape man) easily rode to Will Rogers State Park and back traveling through Marina del Rey, Venice Beach, Santa Monica Beach and points between with multiple stops to eat and/or soak up the local ambience. If you haven't tried an E-bike this is a great way to see what you're missing. This will be a regular stop on my Los Angeles itinerary every time I visit. Thank you for a great day...
