Amazing place to go for a walk, run, go to the beach, or let your dogs run. There is a closed off dog run area. Light house is awesome and you can walk all the way out to it. Waves crashing, beautiful sights and sounds. I’ve seen some launch their kayaks here. There are plenty of events close to the light house in the summertime. Take the path via the beach and rocks on the north side of the area if possible (clockwise), as there are mpre birds, prarie, and wildflowers that way. I crossed with a bit of a swell but its still doable. The lighthouse is only open about once a month apparently but at least they leave the stairs open! Very well maintaining and excellent view. Important: Parking to access this place is near the light house pavilion and over the little island. The "dog park" is also there near the other end of said island but is only a fenced in area.
