SCLSNJ's Manville Library Branch — Attraction in Manville

I've been to many libraries in my life & this library is the most ghetto! Hailing from a very wealthy area of North Jersey, unfortunately, I moved to & living in this area (NOT Manville) for the moment. This library is just not modern at all. It's dingy looking & the patrons are obnoxious & loud! Isn't a library supposed to be, umm.. QUIET?! Nope, not this 1! I use the computers here & ppl are talking out loud, talking on their phones--Librarians, DO YOUR JOB & tell them to be quiet! 1 time I sat next to this young black guy & he was yapping away on his phone so loud, using the n word like he was w his home boys. Another time, this lady was in a private room on her phone. Clearly, the lady didn't know that you have to pay & reserve the room. Also, you could tell English was not her 1st language.. so the librarians, not 1 but 2 told this lady that she had to get out which is fine but it's how they told her--I felt the librarians were rude to that lady, especially the Asian librarian. And the librarian w the salt & pepper, long, stringy, pony tail was waiting right at the door like a dang guard. Another time, this older lady sitting next to me at the computers, needed help w something on the computer so she called over a librarian & asked for her help & the librarian said something like, well I don't want to look at your business--DUUH, librarian, clearly it's okay that you can look at what she's doing on the computer screen! Obviously, it's not something so private or the old lady wouldn't have called you over! Again, it was the Asian librarian & she did not help the old lady. Recently, I went to the Franklin library & wow, what a library & what a difference! If able, go to Franklin library over Manville! Like another reviewer stated.. They host great events, have friendly staff, and I’m glad they were finally able to join the Somerset County system. I will go here to do school work, purchase books, or designate quiet work time.
