I wanted to love this place after reading mostly good things before visiting, but after going there this weekend, I feel misled by all the positive reviews. As a native Mexican-American raised in Texas, it’s been hard to find good, authentic Mexican food in the Northeast. Unfortunately, this place has some of the blandest rice I’ve ever had in my life. It was the right color, had the right texture and the right vegetables, but absolutely zero flavor. My mouth was confused when upon the first bite all I tasted was water. Sadly, that’s how the remainder of the bites were. I couldn’t justify trying to finish something so poorly seasoned. The beans were a little more flavorful, but the texture threw me off. Refried beans are usually a little more stiff in terms of consistency, but these felt like a straight stream of bean water. It was so odd. The sopes similarly lacked flavor, being overpowered by the shredded and fried chicken they topped the sopes with. The only redeeming dish (and the reason I decided on 3 instead of 2 stars) was the torta which had a good balance of flavor, and the chips and salsa. I’ve always said that you can tell how authentic a place is based on their chips & salsa offerings, but I finally found a place that defies that standard. From now onwards, I’ll try not to be too optimistic on just chips and...
Read moreI've been coming here for awhile. Especially now that they reopened after the major flooding in Manville from hurricane Ida last September. This is a family run business, and it shows. The staff is extremely nice, the front desk girl who answers the phone and takes the orders is always happy and smiling. The food is very good and authentic Mexican. My favorite, and I usually get is 3 beef tacos, the traditional way with just a squeeze of fresh lime and thinly sliced red radishes, and fresh cilantro with salsa verde and hot sauce on the side. I also order rice and beans. The beans are very fresh and creamy, along with an order of grilled onions (aka it looks like scallions with an onion at the bottom.) Everything here is homemade and quality. There is street parking in front and around the corner. If you don't want to park across the street in the lot and walk. At O'rale Restaurant you can dine inside. They serve all the traditional Mexican foods and frescas. This Mexican restaurant has become my favorite in Manville. I've tried them all, and this one continues...
Read moreOrale is truly a local hidden gem and offers some of the widest selection and most authentic Mexican food around. I especially enjoy the wide selection of tacos they offer which usually comes with 4 for 12 dollars for their regular selection and 3 for 12 dollars with more specialized meat such as head, tongue or intestine. The service here is incredible, the staff very friendly and they have an incredible chef as well who makes excellent food. I personally visit Orale for lunch or dinner 2 to 3 times a week minimum and whenever I go they are almost always busy - which absolutely speaks to the quality of the food here! If you're looking for some great Mexican food at very very reasonable prices, I would highly...
