We have occasionally visited this establishment as they will have a few unique pieces for our home. We drive about 45 minutes to get there and have generally had positive experiences when shopping which made the drive worthwhile. This time the girl assisting us was absolutely horrible. It seemed as if we were putting her out to ask questions. She did not seem to know the answers to any of our questions, like the brand of the chair we were looking out or how much the painting hanging on the wall opposite of the counter was. It was her attitude , not the fact she did not know. We later found out she had worked there for a long time but still she did not know much about what they were offering for sale? The prices are like their name- Swanky, as in expensive. You expect a certain level of courtesy and professionalism. I had the audacity to ask if they ever had sales events. You would have thought i had insulted one of her family! She said in thirty years they have never had a sale- emphatically! Like i was personally insulting her or the store. We decided to leave and my wife was so upset i decided to say something to one of the owners who we had met briefly on a prior visit. She apologized and said this was that employeeâs last day and that she was âa fabulous employeeâ . I work and have been in customer service all of my life. Furniture is generally easier to replace than customers. I would have thought the owner would have been more involved to try and retain us as a customer since i told her we drive from Lakeway to shop there. Just a sorry . No other attempt to show that they were glad we made an effort to shop there or consider purchasing items there. Is it any wonder most Brick and Mortar stores are struggling and closing, especially with high prices, non competitive pricing and poor service? I found the chair online for less - big surprise- for hundreds less and free shipping. I donât have to wait to get a competitive price since they donât discount and never have a sale. Good luck, One Swanky Shop, i hope your business model of high prices and poor service allows you to...
Read moreAfter moving into a new house, I contacted them to purchase window blinds throughout the house and decorative items. The day of the appointment, they called to say they were running behind. I was fine with that and didn't think much about it at the time. They arrived, we discussed product options and they took measurements. The next step was supposed to be them following up within a week. After hearing nothing from them, I called them two weeks to ask if they planned on following up. They apologized and said they were now ready to come to the house to display the decorative items they were recommending and to choose colors. The day of the appointment, they texted to state they were running behind and asked if they could come later. I agreed they could come later but no one showed up and no one has called since. Please save yourself the headache of dealing with these people and...
Read moreThought this store front was really cute and I was in need of interior items since I had recently purchased a lake home, so I went in. I was never once approached by a sales person and when I asked about an item I was told to make an appointment with a designer. Right in front of me, the lady behind the front desk ask the owner if I could schedule an appointment, the owner told her to take my number and she would call me, of course I never received a call. I value a business on how well they respond to your every day customer, you never know what someone's situation is. I never called back to see what happen, nor have I gone back in since. That day told me everything I...
