The gallery was incredible. It was fascinating to see the paintings up close and personal and to hear more about her life and Art. My sister and I came from out of state and didn't know what to expect. And we were blown away at the feel and experience of it all. Not to mention Akiane herself was there at the time. The whole experience was refreshing. It still resonates with me. In fact, I'm still in the middle of processing it all. When I turned the corner, and saw The Prince of Peace, i really can't explain it. It was very personal, that's about all I can say, only because it was meant for me. But I think that's how it should be. The overall experience was, uplifting, and in ways, overwhelming. I really enjoyed it. I am so glad that ya'll have done this. The chance to experience The Prince of Peace in person, is truly incredible. And actually meeting Akiane, and her signing my print, and book, was something I will never forget. The whole experience was transforming. I have been on a Spiritual Journey ever since I found out about Akiane, her Art, and her Life. And this experience, of the entire gallery and Gala itself and meeting her, words cannot describe. But I am now searching for a deeper meaning to everything. And that is all thanks to her. And to ya'll for creating a place where it can all come together. United, as a world, as a people, as Human Beings, is the purpose of our Lord and Savior's Ministry. To unite all in his name, for the Glory of our God. Your Art Gallery, and the Gala itself, is a big step towards that becoming Real in our time. It is up to us to continue this Ministry, to the World. That is one thing my Spiritual Journey has shown me. And so much more. To become who my God created me to be, and do his will in my life, is my only goal right now. This experience, has catapulted me into a new phase in my journey. I sincerely thank you for what you are doing. You have no idea how big it is to what The Almighty God is doing is this world today. I will admit, I thought that The Almighty God being directly in the lives of people, was just in the bible times. Because we never hear about it today. Then, I discovered Akiane, her life, story, and art. I now realize, God is very much working directly in people's lives here, today, as we speak, She, and her life, are proof of that. That realization is the very thing that pushed me into my Spiritual Journey. And I'm very appreciative of that. Because i am now finally realizing who I am and who I am meant to be. And although it seems daunting, I now know my purpose, and I will stop at nothing to become who my God created me to be. I only wish I could have talked with Akiane about some things, I have so many questions, and she is my inspiration, to keep searching for who I am and where I need to be. Thank all of you again for such an...
Read moreNo photos to post, there are plenty of outside the gallery. No photos are allowed inside. Went during the most recent exhibition in October. It's probably well known that most people who go to the Gallery are there for "Prince of Peace" and "Father Forgive Them." For Catholics, it was a little disappointing there was no exhibition at that time of Akiane's work on Mary. But there were a few others of Christ and several more of Akiane's works. The gallery was divided into blocks for each group to experience without too many people so as to allow a more intimate connection with the paintings. So that is VERY much appreciated. There is a draw for many of the painting of Prince of Peace that is a bit unexplainable- for those who may have prints in their houses or even printed the image to photo paper- it becomes the heartbeat of the home. But nothing comes quite as close as the intimacy of the experience of being in front of the very original painted by a delightful and gifted little girl. After the crying has stopped, you may wonder why is the original work evoking such a powerful range of emotions? For some of us the conclusion is: THIS is the canvas that a young girl who painted the very tall 'carpenter' who came to her home and sat for her to paint Him. After she had asked Christ from her vision to send someone to model. No one answered the ads, just the 'Carpenter' who knocked on the family door and looked directly at the young gifted child until she finished. He asked -her- to paint Him:') He wants us to SEE Him. He walked the earth, He completed His mission and He is real. He is real and He is present. Yes. It is the original. The very painting of THAT Man:') Akiane explained that she wanted each person who sees it to have a conversation with Him. So be prepared for it. The gallery kindly provides tissues for those who come not expecting to have one, but just to gaze in awe at a modern icon of Christian art, but you may want to bring more.. prepare for the unexpected possibilities. And prepare to never...
Read moreThis is based on the visitors more than the gallery but they share some of the responsibility. The gallery blocks off their parking & despite previous requests the visitors take over all the private parking in the immediate area including double/triple parking, blocking entrances/exits, & taking the handicap spots with no handicap placard or plate. By treating others in the area as second class citizens it would be better if the gallery was in a neighborhood surrounded by their target audience.
Edit to response: If it was overflow & nothing more most of us would be understanding but it's not fair to hide behind the cause of the gallery to excuse some of the behavior. We literally cannot enter/exit our building because the visitors think it is ok to block the street entrances/exits. Or ok to randomly block in other people's vehicles. Handicap people have to come back another day because visitors took their designated spots. Children cannot see their doctors. Regardless of where your visitors are coming from I'd expect ministry based people to treat others with kindness & respect without direct instruction. I doubt they were treating the Horseshoe Bay area with such disregard at...
