Visited this place with my environmental biology class to assess our understanding of the material and learn species interactions and toxic level, with little emphasis on erosion that has occurred over several decades. A very nice place that offers cool, windy breeze and hiking which takes you to the elevation where you can see pretty much everything down below. Several had died moving on to the edges of the cliff. So, don't do it and you won't because it has been sealed with the wire. Have a good time with whomever you're going with. Get to learn where you live and how sediments, erosion, alluvium, and transportation of sand have shaped this sort of place and why not others. Stopped by the beach on the way back from the Marine Mammal Center on a Sunday afternoon. Found a good parking spot in short order and found a good spot after a short walk across the estuary Bridge. Sand here is nice but rough in some areas with bigger pebbles. It wasn't overcrowded and the kids were able to body surf and dig sand castles, but the water was too cold for us grownups to follow.
