I brought in a plant I had purchased here for identification purposes, two office employees were eager, to be helping. I'm pretty certain the i.d. tag was present when I brought home originally.
They have a cooler at the front of the store with 'Peace' canned tea I'm liking alot, in the sno-berry flavor. Since discovering I bought three times in a row.
The front register staff have no authority, having to call manager for basics. I returned a garden tool with packaging and receipt after two days. His approval was quick and pleasant, the wait feels odd.
Weeks ago I purchased over one dozen of their half-price plants that were not guaranteed, some looked sad.
The shopping experience was fun.
One Pacific Giant Delphinium could not recover and the other is still desperately struggling. One large Anemone (Wild Swan) died and Fancy Pocahontas stiIl struggles.
I will attach photos of other plants purchased here that are thriving beautifully. So beautifully: two varieties of Heuchera , two varieties of Hosta, Sweet William, two Four O'clocks, Hopi Blanket, Sweet William, Gold Barberry Bush, Spire Ornamental Pear Tree (learned, after purchasing, this tree is a problem invasive in the...
ย ย ย Read moreI would NOT recommend getting baby chicks from this IFA store. They have a barrier between you and the chicken boxes so there is no way of seeing and watching for which ones look healthy. The employees just randomly grab one and you have to hope for the best. Unfortunately we bought two and one of them as soon as we got it home we realized was not doing well. It was lethargic and had a splayed leg was not interested in eating or drinking. We tried to get it to eat and drink all the various ways the veterinarian suggested, but to no avail it died 48 hours later. We believe it had simonalla due to its very watery poop. We are hoping the other chicken does not die. One of the chickens the employee first brought out had really bad pasty bum. So we asked for a different one. Also while we were standing there and the employee was getting one out of the cage one of the other baby birds fell from 6 feet high. The employee said they fall out of the cages all of the time. Not super reassurring. This store needs a new set up for their...
ย ย ย Read moreI've gone to IFA since they had their little store on Wall Ave. I do try to support local businesses. They've always been a five star company until recently and lately they've really gone downhill. They still have a top notch garden center but as a feed store it seems they are going the 'boutique' route instead of supplying livestock owners what they need. The store is a mess of mostly useless items. Stock supplies are really limited, overpriced and the final straw for me was the 2 bales of grass hay I bought the other day that are nothing but Foxtale awns. I can't believe they would even sell 'hay' like this, it's dangerous to feed to any animal and every bit of it had to go in the trash. Now my place is seeded with foxtail because there was so much of it that even handling the bales got awns everywhere. IFA used to hire people who knew what they were doing but at this point just about anywhere else is better when it comes to animal supplies. They are not up to the standards...
