Great place to for hidden groves, ponds, and shady trails. I especially enjoyed the birdhouse trail. Actually, I was blown away by the sheer number of clever and beautiful bird houses. There are several kinds to explore and if you are lucky you might see a turtle, or three. The Bird of Prey area was also very enjoyable. Such gorgeous owls, hawks and eagles to see. There is a great playground for the children, with pails in the sand and a water pump to add to the fun. There is even a children's library near the playground with some interesting books to read. There are shady chairs to rest on and fantastic sculptures for the kids to climb on. About a mile and a half of trails to wander and even a hidden "mouse hole" to find. Spend a pleasant day enjoying nature and support the wonderful educational programs in this...

It was bigger than I thought it was going to be. Tho, I think we came at a bad time of year. I'm sure it is way prettier in the spring. Not many animals out right now. Definitely going to be going again tho. It is really cheap, and the animals are cool to see. We didn't go into the education building either. I loved all of the cool stuff in the gift shop, and all of the really unique bird houses on the way in. They have a bunch of events they hold on their Web site, we may check one of those out. Still, it was a nice, easy, pretty trail to walk. It's crazy how peaceful it is being right on...

"Dude, did we PAY to get mosquito bites!" "They are sucking my soul!" -my kids

The swarms of mosquitoes by the thousands definitely made our time here less enjoyable. There are a lot of shady areas near water. We actually ran through the paths just to get away. It was about 10:30 am at the beginning of June. It was a pretty place but that part was just awful. Out in the sun they didn't seem as bad.

On a positive note, we loved the birds of prey section. The bald eagle and owls were amazing to see. The birdhouse path was also another favorite. We liked to see all the creative...

The birds of prey section is already worth the visit and price of admission. They have amazing birds for you to see and learn about. The grounds are big enough that you forget you’re in the middle of a city. We saw a variety of birds and scat, so we know there’s more to see. All trails and family friendly. There’s a large picnic area in the back part with tree houses. There’s a little gift shop as well. If you sign up for the membership you get other benefits as well.
