I booked 4 nights at this hotel between Christmas and New Year’s of 2024. We chose a large balcony room with two king beds because we would be in the area for several days. The view from the room was great. There is a koi pond with beautiful fireplace and sitting area as well as walking trail. This was a nice touch. We chose this hotel for a few reasons: 1. The rooms online appeared to be very large and well appointed. For the most part this is true and the rooms were quite large. Some of the upholstery and wood is a little worn, but nothing too bad. The beds were not comfortable at all, try sleeping on a rock for 4 nights. Indoor Pool and Spa. The pool was closed for repair on the first night, we were not made aware of this and I realize things happen. Because of the pool being closed on the first evening we decided to rent a movie and just relax in the room. No such luck - the on demand feature of the television system was down, and it stayed down the entire 4 days we were there. Restaurant onsite - Jeremiah’s Restaurant had what appeared to be a great menu and a cozy atmosphere, but upon entering the restaurant we soon found out that the staff were extremely rude and not interested in customer service. We left and did not return to try again with a different shift of workers.
Overall the reasons we chose the hotel, none of them were up to the expectations set by the website.
The bathroom was dirty. The tub/shower had mildew growing in all of the grout. The toilet was dirty and in need of a good deep clean.
The automatic door opener for the foyer to the building we were in was broken and torn apart with parts laying on a built-in piece of furniture when we arrived, it stayed in the same place for the entire stay. It made bringing luggage and other things in and out a little difficult.
Also, the hotel should remind guests the fenced areas with the signage that says “Dog Park” is for taking your dogs to relieve themselves, not on the lawn areas where people might be walking and trying to enjoy the hotel grounds.
When I called the front desk to ask about the pool and report the television not working I was met with less than concern. Told the manager would be in the next day and to call back. I tried doing that, the manager never was available. Upon checkout I asked the front desk staff member if the manager was in and I was told no, they would not be in for a few days. I asked if I could leave feedback and was met with indifference and told to grab a card off the desk and give the general manager a call. NOT ONE SINGLE “ I am sorry, can I do anything to make your stay better.” Not one single ounce of concern whatsoever.

Read moreI have stayed at this property at least 3 times over the last few years, and while it is no longer new, the property, buildings, common areas and guest rooms are maintained exquisitely. The rooms are large, very clean, comfortable and well-appointed. The furniture is substantive and in good condition. My King Bed was very comfortable, linens for bed and bath of good quality and well maintained. There are sufficient power outlets for your needs, and the bathroom is a nice size with a separate sink / dressing / closet area (in my King room). Happily the desk chair was also of good quality and comfortable. The refrigerator size was suitable for keeping leftovers, drinks, and the microwave was clean and functioned well. A highlight of the property are the beautiful water features and grounds...lovely for a stroll, or just to peacefully admire after a busy day of traveling, etc from your balcony or patio. There is a very nice pet walk / relief area, a clean, convenient self-pay laundry (though more machines ((there are 2 washers & dryers)) would be helpful). The affiliated Jeremiah's Restaurant on the property is clean, comfortable, friendly, reasonably priced with tasty options and substantial portions to satisfy all palates. The property is very conveniently located to the interstate and Ogden area, with services and attractions nearby. There is plenty of convenient parking. The provided hot breakfast is in a pleasant, well-appointed room with good quality furniture and a variety of hot and cold food and beverage offerings, including plentiful fresh fruit and hot oatmeal. There were always some variety of fresh eggs, breakfast meats and starch each day, along with make-your-own waffles, yogurt, cereals, juices, coffee/tea. There was something for every appetite. The breakfast period sees the foods / beverages constantly stocked by a friendly attendant. A real highlight for me before and during my stay was the world-class professionalism and helpfulness of the front desk staff, particularly Rachel, who always make me feel appreciated and welcome. This hotel is definitely...
Read moreIf you’re wondering why some reviews on this place say it is trash and some have high praises, let me clear some things up for you. This Best Western has two types of guest rooms, indoor entry and outdoor entry. ||We first were placed in an outdoor entry, room 120, a single queen. It had old carpet, pet hair on the sheets (again not in a pet room), several strands of hair on the side of the tub and lots of hair in the drain. The door had a visible gap to the outside where bugs could potentially get in, though we didn’t see any besides a fly. The bathroom had obvious previous flood damage on the frame of the bathroom door with potentially mold going into the postage stamp sized bathroom that had a door swinging into the area where your legs go while sitting on the toilet. My husband saw a stain through the sheets either on a mattress pad or on the mattress. The mattress was old and worn out. We ended up requesting a room change for a cleaner, nicer indoor entry room. The good news is that the receptionists were accommodating and gave us the last indoor entry room available, and it was bigger than our previous room. They were trying to make our experience better, which was great.|| The new room was 202, which had double queens. It wasn’t in the clearly updated wing by the pool, but the carpet had been replaced with a nice wood laminate, the room was clean, and it was decent. The bathroom was the same size with the same inward swinging door, but it was clean. The mattresses were newer. The only complaint was an old ceiling A/C unit that blew air but did not keep the room cool and started making an obstructed fan sound in the middle of the night. ||The property is pretty, the lobby is nice, and the gardens kept up by Jeremiah’s are exquisite. The pool and hot tub are decent/standard. The breakfast spread had lots of options and had fresh cut fruit, which was refreshing. ||In short, there are some parts of the hotel needing upgrading and a hit or miss on cleanliness, but there are accommodating staff and the out-of-room...
