I wish they reviews had a drop down with different options. I have 2 completely different views. 1st dont follow Google map because it will lead you to a neighborhood. You will need to zoom in on the opposite side of the lake and click on the parking address. 2nd, I will give it 5 stars for beautiful and cleanness. There are plenty of benches to sit on, especially the first part where the main parking is. There is even a playground next to it. I didn't see and bathrooms, but I also really wasn't looking hard. Lastly, I will give fishing 1 star. There is water grass, water moss, Sea moss, whatever you want to call it all around the lake, and even the center part. They have a machine on the lake thats is use to clean this stuff out, but it hasn't been used in a very long time. This makes fishing almost impossible. The only thing you can try to ise is weedless. I read where the lake was stocked with trout, but thats crazy because trout needs fresh moving waster and this lake is stagnant. I did have a deer walk right by me to drink water and eat which was pretty cool to see especially around 3pm. That's basically all my rant. Would I come back? Yes. During the fall or winter just to walk around. As for fishing, absolutely NOT....
Read moreLove this walking/biking/running trail and lake. About 1.7 miles full circuit. Been coming for years! It is the perfect length and has views of sunsets, ducks, trees, turtles, cranes, deer, you name it. Great for photo opps for weddings and prom and just nature photography in general. Many ppl also come to fish. Has benches in prime spots to sit and take in the views. Has a beautiful dam. Never too crowded trail with lots of paths to diverge. Has 1 small covered pavillion that I think is first come first served. A playground and deck at the other end of the lake. My favorite place in Columbia! Parking can be challenging but many ppl don't know you can park in the office park opposite the lake on weekends or evenings where there is plenty space! You do want to be careful about leaving valuables in your car wherever you park as the signs say! The parking is only downside to this hidden gem but does not take away from...
Read moreThe lake is beautiful and peaceful with scenic views while walking around. 1.8 miles roughly around the lake, and there are pathways extending off of either end for miles, in addition to several other pathways leading to neighborhoods. Great place to walk/run/bike. Only problem is it gets pretty crowded during peak hours and it can be a pain to weave around walkers that bunch 2-3 across. Much prefer it during the less busy hours or on less desirable days. Making the path wider could help with this or perhaps have some signs to remind people of...
