My sister and I were otw home from Gunpowder Falls State Park but it was getting late and I didn't want to have to get home to cook. So otw home, when passing Columbia, I searched for vegan-friendly food and Anegada Delights popped up. We were coming up on the exit right then so we got off. I called and the person who answered was very friendly and said they were still open and had plenty of vegan options. We were only a few minutes from the place so we stopped in. The person who answered was the owner, Le, who had impeccable customer service and was, in general, extremely friendly. He had all the suggestions, let us know what was and wasn't vegan, and what he recommended. I can't eat spicy food so he told me what I should be able to eat. He even let us sample a couple things to know whether we wanted it or not.
I had been searching for GOOD, AUTHENTIC vegan Caribbean food for a while. I tried to find a place to eat at last year on my birthday and struck out, searching around D.C. We found one place we won't mention but the place looked like they were in the middle of a reconstruction and just.. drove me away tbh. Also, the customer service always left something to be desired. They were not always friendly. Let me tell you, Anegada Delights freaking DELIVERS baabyyyy. The food is SO freaking good. The customer service was SPOT on. I wanted to order all the vegan food they offered. Not only that, they DO cook the food on the same cook, but they thoroughly and thoughtfully cleaned the surface and any and all cooking utensils needed to make the food we ordered. And he let us know that was what took a bit because they wanted to make sure everything was thoroughly cleaned for us. Honestly, we felt like we were getting royal treatment. LOL. Le, the owner, was really sweet and a great conversationalist while we waited on our order to be prepared. I can't even tell you how good that food HIT. The flavors of the Vegetarian (vegan) Spare Ribs meal and the Vegetarian (vegan) Potatoes & Chickpeas Roti with Tamarind sauce meal were.... Chefs fuckin kiss baabyyyy. I honestly can't wait to go back and try more of their vegan options. We also tried their Mango smoothie and Soursop smoothie and we recommend giving them a try. I want to try their Tamarind smoothie next. But they have a stupid number of offerings for vegans and they take the time to ensure there is no cross-contamination for us so yes honey, it is very vegan-friendly! 10/10 HIGHLY recommend and I can't wait to...
Read moreWe have tried this place two times. I think it's fair now to give an honest review. I will start by saying that the food is not authentic. I am unsure of which carribean country they are going for, but the menu is all over the place. Charging over $5 for a doubles is just ridiculous. At most this should be $2. Not authentic at all and just all over the place and extremely sweet. Would not recomment. Moving forward, I got the brown stew chicken with rice and peas. The chicken was made with sugar. I have never had sweet brown stew chicken. It also tasted like beef at times. Just not fresh at all. You can tell it was just sitting there all day. The rice portion was honestly too much. Who eats that much rice? I paid for chicken not huge amounts of rice and barely any meat. The cabbage was also not the best. Maybe it just wasn't their day. The curry chicken was good but had so much curry powder in it to the point it was over bearing. I am trinidadian and my husband is jamaican. We know and love authentic carribean food and this is not authentic. Lastly, the service gets 1 star. I walked into an empty restaurant and was not acknowledged. I walked up to the register and waited. There were 2 hispanic workers (yes, hispanic) just talking to one another. I had to eventually walk up to the lady to tell her i was picking up and she handed me the bag no smile, no thank you - nothing. I most likely would not return. I would recommend others to give it a try. But it was just not for me. I feel like I wasted $50 on food. Service is very bad and needs to be worked on. And fyi, we want carribean food served by carribean people. The lack of this definitely took away from...

That's my review... woah. I gave the Atmosphere 4 stars because it is tucked away behind a business park. I saw that the ratings here were good and drove through to try it. But wow, it's 20 minutes before the lunch close (Arrived at 1:40pm) and wasn't sure what I was getting into. The place is packed. That speaks for itself, 20 minutes before lunch close. The first thing that happened as we walked through the door was that we were greeted by the owner. He later went on to ensuring my food was brought out asap, as he saw my lunch buddy was already eating. He was doing this for all the guests that had any sort of wait.
But then... the 'woah'. I love caribbean food. I do, I love oxtail, I love rice and beans, I love stewed chicken... but damn if this wasn't the best darn caribbean food I have ever had. I stole a fry from my buddy, great fry. But then I got my food and tried the stewed chicken... the flavors... the mac and cheese side... wow, that might be the best mac and cheese I've ever had. I could only get through half of it before the itis kicks in, but that's fine, I wanted to bring this home so my family could taste it.
I overheard they are making a juice bar, the no sugar added kind. Owner was super friendly and chatted us up. But hot damn, that food.. was.. woah. It actually makes the fact that it's tucked away in the back of a business park that much better... it made it a hole in the wall, a diamond in the rough, a...
