If you have the chance to visit Annapolis, it is well worth your while to see if you can take a peek when it is not in the midst of a wedding or other event. There is a guided walking tour of the Naval Academy, and this chapel is along that walk. Once inside, the chapel is a stunning non-denominational building of worship. The stained glass windows are a sight to behold, and the long aisle spans the chapel seating several thousand. It is open to the public as long as a service, wedding or event isn't being held. Everyone in the area, should visit the United States naval academy. Admission is free, it's not hard to get in, and the place is filled with amazing history. There are museums and exhibits that I have yet to visit. Ladies and gentlemen, the United States Navy is the best Navy in the entire world. Historic, majestic, and a must for anyone who is visiting the U.S. Naval Academy grounds. Site of the final resting place of Admiral John Paul Jones. Known simply as "The Chapel" this is misleading: there is nothing small here- Massive Anchors, large bronze doors, a full organ under an impressive dome and stained glass portraying Jesus walking across the waves.
