Attaquin Park — Attraction in Mashpee

Very large beautiful lake. Sandy beach . ́lots of parking. Right next door to nokabout brewery The beach smells as if the septic system is overflowing. Cyanobacteria warning is posted in parking lot. I brought my kayak to paddle around this beautiful lake. There was a 10 dollar charge to put the kayak in the lake. I have a national park yearly pass. I have a massachusetts park pass and i have a mashpee recreational town pass. Nevertheless it was 10 dollars to put my kayak in the lake. The two town employees taking money were very nice. The three more that were at the landing watching me launch the kayak were informational. It was a lovely spot to spend a day on the water. The beach/park wasnt crowded. I have to give it a no/go until the aroma/bacteria...

I was here to get beers from Naukabout, I hadn't been down to that park area since I was a kid because it was a dangerous place to go. If you weren't family or friends of the people down there you weren't welcomed there. They seemed to have cleaned things up down there now and even have cameras to keep crime away. Actually, we were at Naukabaut Brewery in Forestdale, I believe, which is located in front of Attaquin Park. It’s a lovely area. The brewery is a great place to relax and sample some beers, play corn hole or some outside games. The staff is nice. They have a very limited food menu, which could use some improvement, but we don’t go there...
