There is an artist hidden in every child. And it takes a very special teacher, who is blessed not just with artistic skills but also teaching skills to help a child discover their hidden potential. That’s Ms. Ashm for my daughter, Annika. Ms. Ashm is a gifted artist and an exceptional teacher who not only teaches the ‘how’ of art, but also the ‘why’ of art in her one hour lessons. I know it because my ten year old gave me a lesson on texturing and how and why she chose the colors for her painting. She loves going to her art class every week (for the past one and half years), and she wants to continue. The look of pride and joy in her eyes every time she talks about her art adventure, be it painting or sculpting, and the way Ms. Ashm encourages her - is truly heartwarming. I just finished a class at the studio. I am visiting from out of town and my niece is a student at Ashm ARTorium. Ashm was so very kind to arrange a special class for the two of us on a date that would be during my visit. Both my niece and I love art and this was a VERY special opportunity to share one of our passions! The beach/ocean pour piece is gorgeous! the studio is so inviting and really sets a great atmosphere for creative work. Ashm is very patient and gives just the right amount of guidance while still leaving each artist room to create their own unique artwork. I just wish I lived here so I could take more of her classes. Ashm is one of the very best artists I have ever come across. Her studio is fantabulous and has a great view for budding artists to capture nature’s beauty. Her imagination, keen interest in her students and excelling in what she does makes her class apart. She offers great variety, from sculpting to painting, and she makes the entire process so smooth for her students. You don’t have to worry about bringing the supplies, just enroll for the class and she’ll provide with everything you need to walk away with a beautiful piece of art.
