I really wanted to like this place and I'm very torn on this rating. I'm here with two friends and our experiences were different but here we go! Pros -the blonde at the first bar at the entrance explained things fantastic, as it was my first time here and it's not a traditional restaurant/bar. -she also later helped me pick two beers and was very nice, also the beers themselves were fantastic. -i love the atmosphere and any place that allows and caters to bringing dogs. Again, I really wanted to love this place. -the lady that brought out the food was very sweet Cons -we tried ordering the seasonal cocktails, told we had to go back to the previous bar, get there, told they can't make them. Then when asked what they can make, "it's a full bar we can make anything" ok so why can't we make these cocktails from the menu? This doesn't add up. Tell us your out of specific ingredients don't con us through circular logic about what we can and can't get -food was average, bad for the price. Mac Attack came with mediocre Mac & cheese, tasted like something I'd microwave at home. Some meat that was firm and dry, and cold/dry (but good looking) onion rings. Queso had a nice kick, ok flavor, kinda lame for the price. Chips that came with it were posterchildren for uninteresting chips. -the food comes on metal trays, but with plastic cutlery. I get that it probably saves a lot of time having to only snag metal trays and not worry about anything else, but for this price I'd rather have some real cutlery. Same with the beers. I get it's outside, but the small plastic cups scream "college sports bar" and if I'm paying $7 for a beer I'd rather not feel like it's PBR at Jake's house.

Our party of 5 had a family brunch on our way through Memphis. A fun atmosphere with darts, corn hole, great outdoor seating for sunny days, and a friendly staff. We all ordered something different, so we tasted a variety of offerings from the regular and brunch menus. Street Tacos (brisket): Delicious, juicy and flavorful. Worth ordering again. Street Corn: tasty, messy, and a sharable portion. Mini corn cobs seemed to have been previously frozen, but the toppings made the texture less important than the taste. Chicken tenders: Nice portion size, but the amount of meat was slim, and they were way overcooked. The fries were okay, but not special. Breakfast Sandwich (no added protein) w/ breakfast potatoes: The egg on this one was cooled perfectly runny, but it was heavy on aioli and was very greasy. The Breakfast potatoes were a mix of white, sweet, and purple potatoes, and had a delicious sprinkle of salt and other spices. They were very good. Breakfast Sandwich w/brisket and breakfast fries: Same as above, but brisket was added and the egg was overcooked. The brisket did not significantly alter the taste of the meal, and wasn't worth the upcharge to the person eating it. She was very disappointed in the total meal. Kid's burger: The taste was pretty good, but the meat was overcooked. It took extra condiments to get it to not be too dry. It was served with Voodoo chips, which was way too spicy for a little person's pallette. I took those home and ate them myself. We had fun playing, got full, but definitely appreciated the atmosphere more than the food.

I wish I had gotten the name of the woman who worked in the small bar last night, just to give her this shoutout. We walked in, after driving 14 hours, and asked how we were supposed to order, as it was not very clear to us, but again, that could have been from us driving all day. The woman was so sweet, welcomed us, and gave us the rundown on how this little restaurant worked. We had no idea that this little place on Google Maps was going to be such a little treasure to find. The food was AMAZING (we ordered the “family plate” of espresso and maple-rubbed pulled pork with Texas white q and hickory sauce, street corn (with sour cream and cheese on it), and grilled vegetables- definitely enough for both of us!) and the ambiance of the little place was delightfully southern. The heated spaces and outdoor patio/garden area was beautifully decorated. Definitely a must visit if ever in this part of Memphis!

Was there for the first time invited to attend a pugs event I ordered food drinks and sat at a picnic table last one under the cover canopy there is a tv there I saw everyone enjoying the Alabama Volts game I wanted to watch it too but I was too far so I asked the bartender a girl with blue hair if they could put the game on the tv for me to watch she said tvs are on a schedule so no sorry I honestly didn’t understood so I asked can I talk to someone about it the tv is on but nothing is on it I am not asking to change the channel just to put the game on she said I can text my manager and see what he says and I said ok she text and said ok I did you can return to your table I was like wow Ok thanks after 15 minutes waiting o decided to go to the other little building where the kitchen is and knock on the door I said excuse me I am trying to watch the game and no one is helping me could you ask someone to do something about it and she looked at me and said the tvs are on a schedule I said I know I just want to talk to someone I am not asking for much she stood there looking all annoying and said are you finished you looked mad and I said I am not mad I am disappointed and she said I am disappointed at a lot of things in life that doesn’t mean life is going to go my way every time at that point I felt disrespected and I said oh ok so now you are being sarcastic and she said I am done talking to you and walked away at that moment I realized this place cares more about the own rules that the customer needs I went to the bar again and I said to a different bartender I guess I am taking my business somewhere else because I cannot watch the game and everyone is being rude and she said when it comes to the tvs we have prohibited to touch them and I said ok even if a customer wants to watch the same game everyone else is watching but is too far to watch how is that fair ? She said do you want me to close you tab ? And I was like wow I said yes please I need to leave this place immediately thanks . So that’s what happened I hope this is not the owners and just poor management and leadership as well as poor training and customer service skills I hope someone can read this and improve because I felt targeted as Mexican thanks . Not pulling the race card...

My new favorite place.

The Loflin Yard restaurant, bar and event space is an oasis that appears out of no where on the south end of downtown Memphis.

For the first half-hour, I stood quietly looking around in amazement.

The restaurant offers fine dining in the most serene and relaxed setting.

There's an area to order food and dine under a covered space. Or you can dine outdoors on "the yard" and play bocce, horseshoes, darts, and other games. Feel free to bring your kids, your dog.

There's wine, beer and specialty drinks. I was so amazed, I copied and pasted the impressive menu from the website.

This is not just a place to have a little fun with your friends, it is an experience!

So I came here for a date on a Sunday night at 6:30/7. I don’t drink so I got a coffee which was just a kureig cup with no cream or sugar to be seen or offered. But whatever I put a free counter peppermint in it.

When we got there, there were maybe five other tables there. After about twenty minutes they had all left the restaurant, leaving just my date and I in Loflin (this remained this way the entire time we were there)

The whole time we were there, at 7pm, 3 hours til closing, the servers were doing closing activities like sweeping all around where my date and I were sitting, like literally under our feet, and LOUDLY dragging tables all over the room. Like every table. It was deafeningly loud. I know that sounds dramatic but like oh my god I came there to have a nice date and now there are iron picnic tables being dragged all over the concrete and I’m sitting there flinching from the noise like a scared dog in front of my date. What kind of atmosphere is that!!

Look, I’ve worked in my fair share of restaurants and bars, and I understand wanting to do closing stuff early so you can leave, what I can’t understand is being super disruptive with those activities like you’re trying to make people leave when it’s 3 hours til closing. Because ya know, servers do that sometimes to get people outta there when it’s time to close or after closing.

It was really really obnoxious and loud, the bartenders thought it was just a riot, but it made my date and myself super uncomfortable especially when we’re already the only two people in the whole place. The whole time we were there there was a thick feeling like we were supposed to hurry up and leave. It was a really awkward drive home.

Anyway, that’s my review. I won’t be back. I’m gonna have nightmares about the tables. Free peppermint on the counter 8/10 Chicken tacos...
