The park is beautiful, simply amazing! All of the activities they have at this park. It's almost like a theme park. If you want to work out, you can work out. If you want your children to play, they can play. If you want to walk around the track, you can do that as well. It is truly a great park. But the problem is that some teenagers come up there, who is either skipping school or hanging out and making out up there. They have 0 respect for grown-ups. I've seen a total of 2 couples hooked up with each other in front of my kids. My kids are in online school, l and I take them out for physical education. We decided to go to this park. It was kind of a mistake. Beautiful park. It's just the kids there. Have no respect for grown-ups or authority. On top of all that, one of the kids set some grass on fire and could have burned the park down. Luckily, the fire truck came out and put the fire out before it spread. Me and my kids could have been caught in the fire along with some of the elders who were walking. Something has to be done with the kids skipping school just to make out. I see a police camera, but I don't think it works because back in the day if you see children on the street or at a park The police would show up and ask questions. They were no more insights. We need some sort of security or police presence up there. If not, there's a beautiful park that's going to...
Read moreToday, Aug 10, 2019 marked the Grand opening of the Blue Cross Healthy Place at David Carnes Park in the heart of Whitehaven on Whitehaven Lane. What a magnificent addition to the Whitehaven community. The park is simply phenomenal! It's filled with everything from exercise and gym equipment for all ages, to an outdoor splash park, to a mini football and soccer training ground, to a walking trail, track and field area, community pavilion, and on-site restroom facilities. Every aspect of the park is breathtaking. As a Whitehaven resident, we are so very thankful to Blue Cross for sponsoring the park. Kudos to our Whitehaven District 3 Council woman Patrice Robinson for her tireless work in the Whitehaven community and thanks to Mayor Strickland and the entire city council for approving the Blue Cross Healthy Place project in Whitehaven. We value the work and efforts of all the people who worked to bring this project to completion. I pledge to do my part to keep our park as beautiful tomorrow as it is...
Read moreThe park has nice equipment. The people in the community have damaged some of the equipment and the park is still somewhat fairly new. I took my grandson here because he wanted to swing. The element in the park is not conducive to a positive atmosphere for children. There were teenagers and parents smoking Marijuana. This was my first and last time visiting this park. I will continue to visit the parks in Mississippi even though I am a Memphis resident. We can not have or keep anything decent in our community because of the mindset of our community. I pray for a healing in Memphis and our entire nation. In Jesus Christ...
