McNamara Park — Attraction in Merced

Great park has basketball, skate area, kid playground, kid soccer field, a really nice closed soccer fields, restrooms, park tables, sheltered park tables, police station next to park. It's a little dirty. I think some homeless people shelter here. It is in a low income area. All the old men gather here to hang out together. I will definitely come back to eat my pupusas again. Pool is closed for now. If the Governor says the state will open June 15, 2021, then the pool should open later this summer. But, I wouldn't count on it, vaccines are only allowed for those that are 16 years old and up for now. With vaccines going mostly to older folks for now and the spread of Covid-19 growing among the younger crowd, especially in the youth sports programs, the situation doesn't look good for the pool opening soon. Skate park, soccer field, places to picnic, a lot going for it. However, low class people kept pulling into the parking lot and sitting there blasting their music. Also, no bathrooms in the daytime!! That's right, apparently people are only allowed to get into the restrooms at night. I found them locked during the day. To me that is inexcusable. Children and older people need to use the restroom more often and should have access during the day. Took off points for that and...

People in this area think they have the right to cut you off while at the stop sign...waiting to turn.WAIT YOUR F*TURN.then skaters jumping in the street as if no One else is around. MERCED where's the police when needed. Besides that I was watching a soccer game that my Grandaughter was playing in... People need to be more considerate whether they are driving or playing in that skate park. I hope she doesn't have any more games there....
