Regal Hollywood - Merced — Attraction in Merced

Nice clean environment. On Tue popcorn is half price. Tickets are pricey at $12 a pop. It was my first time, enjoyed Hans Solo Star Wars movie. It's a short walk through town to 16th & O St transit center.

I don't like back pack checks, I go to watch a movie and not taking an airplane at an airport! Downvoting to 4 stars for that, July 25, 2023 for now you must buy your tickets at the concessions counter (no kiosks), front ticket counter is closed and you must select your seats by telling the cashier. I haven't been to the movies since Covid, things have changed. A monthly "Unlimited Movies" program has begun to be offered for about $20 (3 different levels) and you may pay monthly, 3 months, or yearly. Etc. Oct 3, 2023 Gone are the 11am movie showings. They start at 12-12:30 ish and 1-30 ish. I saw the Expend4bles yesterday. I gave it 3 stars. 6-18-2024 Regal has a new deal - buy 3 months of UNLIMITED movies and get 1 month for free. This is a good deal. Just going 2 times a month to see a movie will pay for the service. If you go often enough and buy popcorn, soda, and other snacks will get you credits for free or reduced pricing on their snacks. On Tuesday popcorn is half price on any size. Oct 2, 2024 IMAX Theatre has been open for a couple months now. IMAX has: bigger screen, big sound (warning don't sit on top at the ends, that's where the speakers are, and they are loud), projector is top of the line/state of the art, and lastly, the recliner seats are big, comfortable, with table/drink holder. Dec 3, 2024 Early morning shows are available at 10:45 AM; wow, this allows you to watch a movie and have some afternoon sunshine (with the warmest temperatures of the day). At this time they are devoting lots of screens to Wicked (every 1/2 hour) and Gladiator (2 hr 40 min) has less showings and less screens. It looks like Wicked and Moana 2 are getting the most screen times. 2025 Regal has a new "snack saver" program; $54 per year for 1 LG popcorn & 1 LG Soda for $10.10. First purchase is free, it almost pays for itself (normally about $20) the first time used. No substitutes. You must also be on the Regal monthly unlimited program also. Oh, the LG popcorn reusable bucket discount from last year is no longer accepted. Throw that...

It's a good small theater. Its clean and the staff is great. The seating is the old stadium seating and the chairs are decent. The staff does a great job on keeping everything clean. The restrooms are clean with like....3-4 stalls in the womans restroom. It does not have a baby changing station. But it does have a small candy/midol/condom dispenser inside the womans bathroom.

I go here all the time and have never had an issue.

There's plenty of parking since they share the same parking lot as the Merced mall, Michael's, and Big Lots.

This theater does not show every new release, it does limit that. However, whatever it isn't currently showing its sister theater downtown probably is.

They do have a small area with video games which my children love to play with.

The best thing about this small theater is if you go see a scary movie there....itll be full so you can hear others screaming and gasping.

On the other hand, since this theater is located in a much better location than Merceds other theater, parents feel safer dropping off their teenagers and their friends to this one. So if you're going to a family movie or something rated less than R, be prepared to some amount of whispering...

I went today with my friend sister and her boyfriend. As soon as we enter me and my friend go to the bathroom because she was not feeling well but we notice a white lady with purple hair staring at us. We then go to buy our tickets as my sister and her boyfriend already bought theirs. As we are buying our tickets the same white lady with purple hair whispers something to the guy I am buying the tickets from which makes me very uncomfortable. Before the movie I meet up with my sister in the hallway and she is right there staring at us. During the trailers my friend goes to the bathroom because she does not feel well and she was standing there watching her. I tell her that we should just leave as I feel uncomfortable and profiled. We all leave and as my sister goes to get our money back they guy at the counter tells us that we can not get a refund because they were trying to sneak us in another movie and proceeded to call her a liar and not give us our money back. To me I felt racially profiled as a person of color and she made me feel extremely uncomfortable. And the popcorn was gross and...
