This is not really a park. Plainly stated at the entrance, you must call the posted # in order to use the soccer field. It is actually a practice field for some local teams & beginners. Not to mean it in a bad way, just not a park. You can although get close to the waterfall & if you have the courage to go down to it, you can swim in the collective area at the bottom of the now wide & not so dramatic teared off falls. There is a walking trail that comes off the sidewalk that runs along Merriam lane on the east side next to Enterprise car rental storage lot. There is actually, just next to the car lot, a area that cuts back in the field, close enough to step down to the waterfall area where there is plenty of room to wonder and even a great place to meditate or give you quicker and much safer access to dive off the falls into the water just below, pending the water height due to some storms @ some times. If you decide to take this route, please mind that there is wildlife that has made the area its home. Be aware of snakes & other beautiful creatures. The geese & beavers as well as cranes are a spectacular sight. Please be kind & please...
Read moreWe are from out of state and stopped by when we had some extra time, and were looking for something to do. Found the location in a Google search, but it was a bit of a disappointment when the hiking trail from the parking lot to the "waterfall" was only 300 feet, and in early October, there wasn't much water running. If you're willing to climb down a steep embankment lined with erosion control boulders, you could probably get down to the water if you wanted to. The noise from the train tracks was quite loud. We didn't realize until days later looking at a map, that there is actually a four mile "Turkey Creek Streamway Trail". We didn't find any signage at the park to illustrate this. The best feature of the park was a bicycle repair station. We had never seen anything like it before. Has attached tools and a QR code that links you to how-to videos of...
Read moreI was disappointed this park seemed bigger when I drive past I took my kids over there and I was like this is it? It's more for soccer, flag football, kickball and capture the flag. Plus you have the waterfall which is the best part of the park in all honesty. Oh yeah another very interesting thing I never seen at a park was a pump station where you can put air in your footballs, soccerballs, basketball, kick ball and even air up your bike which I have never seen before at a park but again this is more of a adult park the more I think about it. So basically theres the bike trail, waterfall, and the open field. The playground shouldn't even be considered a playground when you can go to wal mart and buy a bigger set then the...
