I have been coming here for almost a decade now and was heartbroken when the hurricane hit this place. I am glad to say they rebuilt but kept the old feel. The rooms are updated and look very nice. A microwave, oven, full fridge, and a nice sized sink. The staff is still as friendly as ever. The pool is heated and they have a nice bar to sit and have a drink and chat. They normally have holiday specials just like this Thanksgiving they are having a holiday meal for everyone. This might be one of the last places to get the classic Florida family vacation feel. The beach is nice. No crystal clear water but the sand is soft and clean.

Really impressed with the location, and the cleanliness of the room was outstanding. And the check-in staff was very courteous, friendly and informative. My two night stay was very peaceful and the guests were friendly and pleasant. I'm already telling friends and Family to book at the El Govenor for the summer. I definitely will be booking again soon. This was my first visit and certainly not my last. There is nothing like and Ocean front view Hotel, the sound of the ocean was everything. Just sitting on the balcony of the hotel and looking out at the ocean was a beautiful moment for me. Thank you El Govenor!

This place is special because I've been coming with family since childhood. When it was damaged by hurricane, I wasn't sure it would even be rebuilt. I was pleasantly surprised after spending a week and the newly renovated El governor resort. It still has the charm I remember, and the updated amenities really make the stay so enjoyable. Every room is literally beachfront with a private balcony. There's nothing to say except thank you to the owners for the effort of putting this iconic location back together for friends and family to enjoy for many years to come.

Hate to write this, but I was so very disappointed that I have to share our experience. Check in was fantastic. You can’t beat the location. But the rooms. In NO WAY is this a “Resort”. This is at best a beach motel. The furniture inside the actual room is the same as what is outside on the balcony. PLASTIC. The table looked to be pre Michael. I expected it to be nicer than before everything was leveled by the hurricane. However, it is not as nice as it was before. Huge disappointment.

This hotel has been “Crowned”👑 my family favorite hotel. This hotel is so clean and spotless. The hotel came with everything from mugs,cups,plates,coffee maker, utensils, iron and iron board, blow dryer and etc. They definitely invested in this property to make sure the customers get the best experience. The beach was heaven, the fact that the rooms overlook the beach was breathtaking. Thank you so much El Governor, can’t wait to book with you again!!!!
