The one star is there because i noticed that a lot of money has been invested in making it nice and welcoming However, My experience there unfortunately was not the best; it is not my local mosque and i had to go there just so i can pray dohr before Asr arrives. First things first: i did NOT know where the sisters' entrance was and the masjid is big ma sha'a Allah so i asked my husband to show me the way and we were walking a man opened the door and started shouting at us and especially at my husband (my husband looks obv Arab and i am aware that A LOT of Arabs can be very rude to Muslims from India/Pakistan/ Bangladesh area and I HATE that but at least he could've tested us from the first ten seconds of interaction). Next, he yelled at my husband and told him to put his shoes outside while i was told to walk with my shoes to the inside to the sisters' area, what kind of logic is that to make him walk barefoot from the outside on a floor where sisters where walking with their dirty shoes? Next, as you enter the mosque you'll find the brothers' tables RIGHT NEXT to the sisters' tables, is this a speed dating place or a mosque? Why can't they just put a separation in the middle?! You do know that some people don't go there go to pray, right? And you're giving them the right atmosphere to do their magic and as a woman i would not feel safe to be in a place where i would be looked at inappropriately in a "cat calling" way. Next, as i said, the masjid is so big ma sha'a Allah so why make bother women and men enter from the same small door? Next, why not give the sisters an independent room where they can be themselves instead of that narrow spot in the masjid where men can hear every word and whisper the sisters make? + why is the last line of the sisters' area EXPOSED to the brothers side? If a woman in the last line has to make rokoua'a or sujud how would she do it in front of the guys?? Next, in the wudua area :why aren't there any towels to dry the face and feet? I am aware that they have a dryer but I can't use that for my face and feet! The next creeped me out, as i was returning from the wudua area to the prayer area i found the door closed (turns out you can open it from the praying area and not from the wudua area, Alhamdoulilah that the emergency exit door was open. Till this point I wasn't very upset and was going to give the masjid 4 stars But what made me angry is that i found out that they let non-Muslim women enter the mosque WITHOUT telling them to put a head scarf, cover their cleavage or wear a long shirt so at least it would cover their skinny jeans! There was not even a hint! At the end i would like to say: if you don't respect your own...

ย ย ย Read moreDefinitely one of the bigger mosques in South Florida. It has expanded pretty well over the past few years, especially the sisters' prayer area. It is a nice mosque, but since majority is dominated by Pakistanis, a lot of impartiality and racism exists towards other nationalities. And you can notice it primarily during Ramadan and with sisters. Many times my mom and I had to stand and break our fast because groups of families would hog chairs claiming they are waiting for someone and I would see them using the chairs to hold their purses throughout the entire time. No sense of courtesy or humanity at all, and I thought you are supposed to help your brothers & sisters during Ramadan.
And the amount of food they waste is unbelievable and very sad. No sense of control at all. Food will be served in larger quantity if you are from Pakistan or their relative. Which is fine as we go there for taraweeh prayer and not food. But even while praying there are times when we are asked to find some other spot to pray because they "holding" that spot for someone....
