Thinking of trying craft lab for a fun time with your little ones.... well think twice. It was HORRIBLE! From the start our host Kris was extremely harsh. When explaining to the adults that "observers" can't assist w/ painting, she told us we can't even pick up a brush to help or we would be charged full price. I find that a bit ridiculous when we're trying to experience this with such little ones. It was also ridiculous that the squirt guns are presented as an "additional option" in front of the kiddos... for an upcharge.
During our 45min, Kris hovered over us while scolding our children (ages 3yr, 3yr and 19mon) countless times. "Don't do this, don't do that. Follow the rules." Everyone has to wear safety goggles, which is fine, but I would expect kids to need a fresh pair at least once due to paint. Kris was irritated when my 19 month old took his goggles off and required a new pair because paint completely covered them. Kris stated, "we don't want to do this more than once." It was a VERY FRUSTRATING 45min. When you spend that much money ($70 for 2kids and 1 observer), you expect a fun experience. Kris should not be allowed to work with toddlers. We will NOT be returning and do NOT recommend this or Kris to anyone. I'd rather spend the money at hobby lobby and let the kids do this in...
Read moreI would give this place a higher rating if I could! My partner took me on a surprise date so I had no idea where I was headed. I was SO pleasantly surprised. We each got our own canvas and got to go into an awesome paint filled room and just throw paint around. There were squirt guns, paint brushes, scrapers, little dropper things. My favorite part was that she took my phone during the experience so we could focus on spending time together and painting while she took AMAZING photos! (I’m talking profile pic worthy photos) That’s so smart because they were there immediately on my phone, I don’t have to worry about a paint mess on it, and we can be present. 45 minutes was the perfect amount of time. We finished our canvases and then got to paint on the walls, windows, and our hands. Kris was so sweet and accommodating. We both have medical issues and she was right there with whatever we needed whether that be a chair, or grabbing my Gatorade. The little stuff matters. We were the last party of the day so we spent a bit talking to her and getting to hear what else she offered and it’s SO much more than you would even think! Stop by and ask sometime. I’m bringing my staff back for a team outing! Support this small business and have your parties and...
Read moreWe had our daughters 8th birthday party at The Craft Lab. I highly recommend this place if you're high strung, but also overwhelmed. 🤣
I admit to browsing pinterest for an embarrassing amount of time, shopping months in advance for creative decorations and tchotchkes on a theme. I walked in to The Craft Lab and decided to leave all the stuff in the car, minus tableware and some balloons.
The venue itself is brightly colored and very very cute. And the kids truly were just so excited and in to coloring their pictures and talking that none of the other stuff mattered.
Kris kept the party on track and was also a voice of sanity - she made sure that I didn't stress at all. I mistimed the food and just hearing that it would be okay was invaluable. She was right. It was fine. 💗
The kids had an amazing time being free to create. They got a priceless souvenir in the form of a canvas to take home. We got beautiful pictures of the kids having the most fun.
It was a perfect experience. I wish I had known just how amazing it was before I went down my weird anxiety spiral, but hopefully this review can help you avoid it.
Thanks to The Craft Lab for a birthday we'll...
