Pocono Bazaar Flea Market — Attraction in Middle Smithfield Township

Sorry. I know you are trying to make a go of it. And things will never be the same as it used to be. Admittedly, we have been away for a long time. Long enough not to know that the "GOOD OLD FLEA MARKET SITE" is now a grocery store. We drove 1.5 hours from near Philly to relish in the good old days. I even drove out 209 past the Price Chopper (travelling west to east) not realizing it but looking for the stone parking lot with the wooden buildings and yellow iron gates on the parking lot. I even smirked as I drove past what is "now" the bazaar saying huh - look at that hole in the wall trying to compete with the "real one" :-( I wish you the best. We were there yesterday (7/15/18) with the threat of showers so all the vendors weren't there. I did get one item I came for - sunglasses. The rest was a huge disappointment. Perhaps the biggest unknown is why they need a DJ in center court BLARING obnoxious music that you cant even talk.???? Man I miss the good old days. Even if it meant sitting in traffic on 209 for an hour just to get in the place! Had to GOOGLE what happened to the old one..........now I sadly know. If you like things made in china. If you like the crap your kids get for a quarter inside the grocery store gumball machines. If the idea of all things cheap, and plastic appeals to you. If you ever walked into a harbor freight store and said "holy crap, it smells like poison in here" and took a deep breath because you liked it. If you would like to buy your child his/her bicycle back that somebody picked out of your trash 3 weeks ago. If you need some antiquated rusty tools that were pilfered from somebody's last job. If you aren't afraid of getting food poisoning.. this place is for YOU!

If you are like the rest of the coupon clipping, deal loving, on sale or I don't buy it, thrifty people who enjoy a good flea market - save your gas money and go elsewhere.

It was great hearing live music as I walked around! One downfall is the lack of an ATM...unless of course, you bank at PNC! Most vendors want CASH, however, Square is used by many vendors now. My greatest purchase was a red tee shirt that brings attention to our Veterans Suicide Hotline! Thank you to her neighboring vendor who used her Square to make my purchase! (Glittery jewelry). The next greatest purchase werw some of the BEST pickles made by someone besides Granny! They let you sample before you purchase...Dill chips won my vote! A couple of the indoor areas smelled "old"...am I saying it nicely? (Ahhh...they were stinky.) It's a fun walk around this flea market and the people were friendly. Gotta go now...these pickles are sooo good..can't stop...
